I would not have given this place a second look if it weren't for the reviews here. Having just moved to the area I wasn't quite sure where to eat and I would not think to go in from just walking pass.

The decor is very simple, tables and chairs a few pictures of food on the walls but as I walked in I was greeted with a smile and I felt a bit more at ease. Looking at the menu I felt like I wanted to order everything but as I was getting take away for a gathering I stuck to satay chicken, satay fish balls, cha kway teow and some wontons. I also couldn't help getting some cendol to go. Could not really fault any of the dishes.

Satay chicken was a little rich for my taste but my husband loved it. I enjoyed the satay fish balls more, they were surprisingly tasty and really went well with the satay sauce. The cha kway teow had a great balance of spicine as, savouriness and sweetness. The cendol was refreshing! Keen to return to try the Laksa and chicken rice.

Best value Japanese in Crows Nest, if not Sydney. I couldn't fault this place. Great service, a wide variety of dishes that were all tasty. I was blown away like I was at some more upmarket Japanese restaurants but that doesn't mean it didn't taste yummy! I had a good hearty feast that didn't give me a heart attack when the bill arrived. Highlights were the spinach salad, deluxe sashimi and sushi set and the shiitake and mince.

I celebrated my anniversary at Waqu and I had such a lovely time. Service was attentive and professional. They made an effort to answer any questions. We had the 6 course winter menu and were absolutely stuffed, the extra course may have made the difference. I would agree that the servings are small but I thought each course was delicious.

Definitely the highlights for me were the first course (with Wagyu and tacos) and the 3rd (miso soup - it was just such a delicate and pure stock and just oh so tasty). I am keen to return to Waqu to try their menu for the other seasons.

I am enthusiastic about 2 things when it comes to food, good food and good food that does not contain MSG. Miss Chu ticks both of those boxes very finely. First time I went there I tried the PHO. This is a dish very close to my heart because I will literally have heart palpitations if I eat PHO with MSG in it. Miss Chu's is the first place that serves PHO that has been able to assure me that they don't use msg in their food.

The PHO wasn't the best that I've had but pretty good and I will definitely give it another shot. What completely won me over was the papaya salad. Absolutely yummy! It had crunchy interesting bits I'd never in my papaya salad before. There was a mini guava-tomato type vegetable in it and I thought that the cashews were a great addition. I have not experienced any bad service from here but I can imagine it gets hectic during peak times. I know I will be making an effort to return to Miss Chu's.

My partner and I discovered this gorgeous little place after finding an online deal offering $30 worth of food for $5. We ended up feasting and ordered a lot more than $30. Highlights were definitely the Salmon Carpaccio, Special Eel Roll and Spicy Chicken Karaage and black sesame ice cream. Can't say the wagyu was the best I've had. Cheaper than average at around $17 but lacked pizazz. The servings are smallish but reasonably priced. I've been to more expensive restaurants that had similarly sized servings. Overall I'd recommend Water Moon as place to take someone you want to impress.

Fabulous food, forgettable service.

Came here late on a Thursday night and thought we'd beaten the rush of people and would settle to a nice relaxed meal. What we got was a nice meal that was far from relaxed. Had to wait for them to make our table, wait again for the menu, and again for our order to be taken. We asked for the shumai, scallop and prawn miso sushi, eel special, salmon salad, wagyu special and agedashi tofu. We only received the shumai, eel and salmon correctly, we were brought the wrong wagyu beef, miso soup only and a random dish we didn't even order.

Luckily everything thing was absolutely delicious. The wagyu despite being different to what we ordered was perfect, salmon salad tangy and fresh and the shumai just divine. At the end of our meal we tried to offer the waitress constructive criticism and they just smiled and laughed it off. It was very silly of us to assume that they would understand our suggestion if they hardly got the order right.

I recommend Ju-Rin for the amazing food but advise all that venture there to double, no triple check their orders.

I visited Pink Peppercorn for a Friday night date with my partner and we had a lovely time. Staff are very accommodating and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Had the jacketed prawns, crab meat spring rolls, slow-cooked chicken curry, lamb salad and papaya salad. All the dishes were tasty but stand outs were the lamb and papaya salads. Whilst Pink Peppercorn is different from your typical Laotian joint, this restaurant offers a fresh modern Australian twist on traditional Laotian cuisine.

My rating is based on the fact that I felt ill after eating here. I ordered the Nasi Lemak. Things were ok at the time I was there, food was not great but wasn't awful, my date enjoyed his chicken curry and rice. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I really enjoyed my Different Drummer experience. Had a great Girls Night Out here, atmosphere was chilled and loungey with an unpretentious crowd. I ordered wedges and chorizo, decent tasting food. Will be back to explore the drinks and food menu more.

Possibly the worst Spanish I've had...ever. Basically ended up here for a friend’s birthday because every other Spanish restaurant was booked out, that should have rung alarm bells. Food was either too oily or too bland. Service was haphazard. Received about 6 thinly sliced pieces of chorizo, prawns drenched in oil and the paella was just indescribably bad. It was stuffy, loud, hot and gimmicky. I'm not sure what made me queasier the food or the entertainment.
