I have now had two very dissapointing meals here which is a shame as it is close to our home, and the value isn't bad If the food was decent.
First time, the Tom Yung Soup had a revolting prawn in it that stunk. I thought I would suffer food poisoning, luckily I didn't, but I wondered how the kitchen staff wouldn't know and also where that thing came from!? The Massaman Beef Curry was average and nowhere near what I could do myself.
The second time our waitress had some obsession with putting her fingers on the rims of all our glasses and inside our soup bowls. The food on this occasion was incredibly, almost sickly sweet. The Pad Thai was boring and not of a generous size and the hottest dish on the menu (the name escapes me) we had served with pork which was tough and ridiculously over cooked.
Really average...I forgot to mention the second time we used an online voucher and the dishes were small. You would think this would be an opportunity to showcase your restaurant not show the world you are tight and grubby (fingers in the bowl? Seriously).

Holy moly this was the hottest meal I've eaten inside of Australia. True this may be authentic Chinese cuisine but watch yourself if you tackle the Dry Chilli Chicken, it had about 200 fried chillies in it amongst about 30 incy weeny pieces of flavourless heavily friend chicken. We also had Nthn style dumplings which were ok and a nice rice dish. But that chicken dish was seriously seriously hot!
Also, being Aussie we got stuck next to the kitchen door, despite booking and having to wait for 5 minutes so that was a little deflating (and noisy) plus they threw food at us rather than the courteous serving style you'd expect with moderate prices.
We were fairly unadventurous with our ordering and steered away from the fish heads, jelly fish, pigs ear and all that truly Chinese fare. For brave Europeans only! I'm still in trouble with the wife for taking her there! We had a bit of fun, sweaty fun at that however!

Fantastic! If you've never dined on the left bank in Paris, it's OK, you can go here. What a quaint little restaurant, the perfect spot for a 4 year anniversary and had I known I would have bought a cracking bottle of red along as BYO is OK.
The Chateau Briand was exceptionally as was our starter of French Onion soup. We also had a small salad (iceberg with a crazy dressing) but that was probably a little overpriced. My wife thought it was all rather salty but when its lovely beef, I don't mind one bit.
Our hosts were also spot on with timing and all too pleasant. I heard the Tarrgon chicken is excellent as well so next time I might opt for that. Bon Apetite!

This is solid pizza, well cooked, good topping factor and all fresh and tasty. Nice pleasant staff. A family supreme was ordered and a small Napolitana and it was $28. 2 very hungry adults and a 3 year old couldn't get through it all. Pay a little mor4e and forget Dominos or that appalling lack of topping rip off Pizza Hut and go here if you are local.

We went here for a work Christmas lunch and the service and stuff ups were so bad it became comical. In saying that my scallops were top notch and fish was delish. They did stuff up some orders, and hairs were found in my friends meal in both his entree and main.
They also gave some of us the wrong dishes for mains and they did spill coca cola over another friends entree of scallops. She was then told there were no more scallops but they appeared with more of them 2 minutes later, we hoped it wasn't from someone else's plate who didn't eat them.
The food did take a while to get to us too but considering they were packed the wait time wasn't too excessive. Good French cuisine is hard to find and I'd guess on a good day they'd do a good job, however, on this occasion 'tres ordinaire' (pretty ordinary)!

I've been going for lunch and primarily dinner here since 2003 and it is always very tasty and authentic. The menu features the more unusual dishes considered exotic by the average aussie punter but I love the pungent herbs and spices and the heat! They have a range of chilli sauces plus the good old fresh chilli with soy to keep the taste buds on edge.
You feel it could be a little overpriced but with so many typical Viet restaurants around I never mind paying 30% more than you might elsewhere. It also has a little outdoor area out the front so you can watch the characters of Surry Hills stroll by.

Resisting BBQ Pork or Peking Duck sooner or later becomes too much and one must succumb. These guys have all those goodies hanging in the window as a contstant reminder. It worked, I've been 3 times now and the food is consistently good and good value. Typical 'slap, bang, crash' service and somewhat typical grubby surrounds but that seems to be the go for Asian restaurants that don't charge the earth. I'd say have a lash if you live fairly locally, nothing to fault except the grubby toilet and the sub-standard but to be expected service, so do not tip!!

In my opinion Nada's is the benchmark for Lebanese food in Sydney. I've been enjoying dinners (and the odd lunch) here for over 20 years and the guys that run the show are absolutely gentlemen. Sele Baloubie, which is hard to find, is a divine dish and all the classics like Baba Ganoush, tabouli, shish tawook etc. are all first class.
It's a little rough around the edges and could do with a spruce up but personally I kind of like the old familiar surrounds. Besides with food this reliable and tasty, you won't notice it too much!

If you asked me what I thought of this place a few years back I would've given you a big wrap...but sadly the wheels have fallen off. We went there for a family birthday at 6.30pm (as that is one of the 2 sitting times!) and we were somewhat rushed. My pork ribs were burnt, in fact everyone's ribs were charcoaled excessively and my hunch that they deep fry them first is also now very likely. To top it off they are definitely frozen as well as I inspected the goings on in the kitchen through the window.
I don't know who owns this place but you get the impression their profit is more important than your dining experience. If you've been there before go elsewhere and supprot someone who cares about your tastebuds and your health. Boo.

You're spoilt for choice in Surry Hills for Indian Tucker but these guys really do have their own flavour and style. We had a delicious dahl and an interesting mild chicken dish with pistaccio...very nice and a good change from our usual blow your bum off hot curry. Definitely worth tucking into if you are short of ideas for a spoit of Indian.
