Got a Groupon deal which indicates 2xmains up to $45. However, once arrived, they confined selection to cheap mains that don't add up to that value, and required supplement payments for mains that do. This is gross false advertisement, and our dinning experience was totally put off because of this. Stay well away!
This is the last place left from the good old times, personal service and a lot of love in to what they do. It is enough for me to walk in and the owner already makes my pizza without me ordering. If you like old school service and looks it is Mergs for sure!
After 40 years, still excellent quality pasta and great service. I have been going here periodically over the years since it opened its doors. Its quality, over those years has never varied it is still a terrific place for some first-class Italian when it is pasta or pizza, nor is it overpriced for what you get.
Service is prompt and courteous, with a well-stocked bar. Portions are generous so you will not leave hungry.
Thoroughly enjoyed going here again, we both had pasta of different varieties, together with some excellent garlic bread. Pasta was very fresh as worthy ingredients, and being an owner run restaurant, did not rely on the normal franchised food which you so often are presented with.
We both are looking forward to returning in the near future.
Fantastic value for money! Not a high class establishment but what do you expect for the prices. Friendly, courteous staff and great food, to get better than this you would have to pay at least double anywhere else.
The closest regular local pizza place to me and they make an ok pizza for the price. Can be a litttle soggy at times but usually ok. My main issue with them is that they often have horrible service etiquette, ie. not looking customer in eye, not confirming order or saying how long pickup orders will be the majority of time and are often quite surly in general tone of voice.
Example as it has been 90% of time for me: them: "Mergellina's"
hi: Hi can i order a large X for pickup.
them: ok. *then hangs ups*
Leaves me wondering whether they even write orders down which is why I wasn't surprised when they forgot to make my pizza when I went in recently. Not happy lift your game guys.
I've been going here since I was little because my parents both went there in their youth so it holds a lot of history. The Carmella pizza is the best pizza I've ever eaten (cheese and mild shredded salami) and I won't eat pizza with meat anywhere else as nothing else compares to it.
The restaurant is very old-style Italian and not pretentious in any way. Take out and delivery options are great too. If you want a pizza that isn't a franchise-taste and is good value, come here.
