Had been looking for a really delicious "roasted crispy chicken rice" in melbourne for quite some time before we bumped into this place. Saw this place one late Friday night (around midnight I think) and it was packed with people. Decided to give it a try, the roasted crispy chicken rice was good. The chili paste that came with it was delicious. Haven't tried the other dishes though. Will definitely come back on day when my crave for asian food comes tickling.
Tried several dishes from here since it's opened. Some dishes are very authentic, most of what I've tried is delish ie. laksa, noodle dishes, special fried rice, curry chicken etc. Not too much msg when we've eaten. The Chinese BBQ roast pork can be inconsistent in taste, sometimes really good, sometimes too salty. Service is friendlier and better than some other Chinese places in the area. Family place, don't expect fine dining. Try it.
Update: Had a whole heap of take away on late Sunday afternoon. Having arrived around at the pick up time, we saw our containers of food sitting on the counter which was next to the open entrance. Even then they felt lukewarm already. Had to reheat everything when we got home. Curry chook was good as usual, but maybe it would be better to have more authentic sweet and sour chicken instead of the run of the mill variety. $4 for a bag of prawn crackers is a bit much. Take away food should consistently be kept out of draughts.
