The service is great now. The food though? I like going because its close to home and sitting on the water is lovely but whoever signs off on the flavours has no taste buds at all. It's like they don't use salt. It's so freaking bland.
Food was fantastic and so were the views, the menu was a little expensive and the service was awful. We watched as every other table around us was served...we had to get our own menus and drinks and ask to order, the waitress was just damn right rude!
Beautiful views of the water. The cafe menu is quite extensive with quite a few vegetarian options. Probably a little expensive for a cafe menu. Certainly worth a relaxing meal on a sunny afternoon. Excellent service.
Went to Doyles on a beautiful sunny day and firstly I must say the atmosphere and views were quite nice. The service was prompt and the staff seemed to be always attentive. The food was really what I expected, really good portions, simple and fresh, nothing too fancy just good meals prepared well.
All up The Bridge Hotel a.k.a Doyles is a great place for a dinner that won't break the budget on a nice summer's day. Will definitley be visiting again in the near future.
I'm a regular at The Bridge as I live close by and it's always a great place to go on a nice day, sit outside on the deck and watch the boats drift by, great atmosphere and very relaxing. Especially for breakfast. Food is always good and as usual some dishes are better than others.
The menu changes from time to time but the pizzas are always good, the lamb calzone is good too, the anti pasto platter is a good entree to share. Basically the hook of the Bridge Hotel is the location and there aren't too many better places to eat on a nice warm night. Coffee is usually very good here too.
DOYLES - not the cafe but Doyles at the Bridge Hotel. Same venue. Great place, sit on the deck and you will love it, especially on a great Victorian day. The staff is very good, they will remember you, they will accommodate to you. The wine list is good, they always have a very good specials board that works seasonally and it is reasonably priced. I am a repeat offender, It is essential on a summer day to book.
We were originally seated outside for lunch but it got a little cool and it wasn't a problem for the waitress to reseat us inside. My veg lasagna was average. My husband really enjoyed the calamari entree and the fish and chips. Decent food and friendly service.
