Lunch is a far better time to eat. You walk out full & don't need to have toast when you get home. If you go there for dinner have a back up meal ready at home. I have had lunch several times and dinner twice. Staff need to be told what service means & I requested water, nothing out of the ordinary I thought. Meals were a bit expensive for the size served. They are a pub not 5 star restraint in town.
Ordered the cut of the day. Was told sorry out of Angus beef but would be given rump. I said as long as it is tender I don't mind. Chef change his mind and gave me scotch fillet. Absolutely fantastic, oh so tender.
Agreed, food very over priced, service too casual, new menu is very hard to follow and has some serious gaps, ie what do vegetarians order? and, if I'm paying restaurant menu prices I want someone to bring my glass of wine to the table!
Last minute idea to go the Oriental for dinner. The waitress was incredibly arrogant. Rolled her eyes at us when three friends showed up unexpected. Speaking in a condescending tone that we should have booked. Given that there were at least four empty unreserved tables around us, I could not understand her rude attitude. They won't get our business again!!!!
