Coconut Thai is easily the best Thai restaurant in Wollongong. I enjoy Coconut Thai so much that I visit John and his team at least once a fortnight! The food is delicious, authentic and great value for money. The staff are friendly, attentive and very helpful - they will go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is enjoyable. My favourite dishes are the pad thai and the tom yum soup! YUM!

A lunch or dinner at Coconut Thai will, without a doubt, be the highlight of your day (or, perhaps, even your week!). John and his staff provide fantastic service, ensuring to make a connection with each customer and attend to individual needs.
The prices are extremely reasonable, and the student night on Wednesday serves as an added incentive to make a night at Coconut Thai a regular occurrence (free BYO is also a bonus!). I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, especially the cashew chicken and the massaman curry! You will go home feeling very full and very loved!

Coconut Thai is the perfect place to have a delicious and affordable lunch or dinner in Wollongong. John and the rest of the staff are attentive and genuinely enjoy their work. They have a strong connection to the University of Wollongong which means they do a deal for alumni, and student night is wednesday night. Coconut Thai delivers consistently delicious food and with free BYO, you can make a night of it (order the curry puffs and cashew chicken if you're not sure!).

Coconut Thai is absolutely my favourite restaurant. I have been eating here for 8 years now and have still not found another Thai restaurant that matches it in terms of food quality and service.
They offer an incredible range of vegetarian food, and good monthly specials that are authentically Thai. Other promotions such as $5 fried rice on Monday and student night discount on Wednesday offer great value. It is reasonably priced and great decor inside.
Service is always great, especially from the manager John who always has a smile on his face and is pretty much the friendliest waiter I have ever encountered. Only a couple of times in 8 years have my vegetarian meals had meat in them, in those cases the staff were very quick to apologise and replace my meal.
Recommended dishes here: laksa, red and green curries, lard na, chilli basil noodle, curry puffs. Just thinking about it makes me hungry.

I'm not going to lie. I was a little disappointed. While the food was 'ok', it wasn't awesome. We had ordered 2 of the same drinks, but told they only had 1 left.
So we went to order our favourite Thai meal off their menu, only to be told they no longer had it (yet it was still on the menu). We ordered dessert, but they didn't have any icecream left besides strawberry. This was dinner time on a Friday night (that we had booked weeks ahead), and I think they should have been stocked up more for what they would have known would be a busy night. I was glad I had a coupon, as I would have been very disappointed had we paid full price.

Excellent value, friendly service and great food. This is our all time favourite thai restaurant! They also cater very well for vegetarians and have a large selection of vegetarian dishes.

Whilst on a quick holiday trip we came here for Christmas nights dinner. While not full when we arrived it quickly filled up. Service was a little up and down, as our Panang Chicken was forgotten. Then brought out as Panang beef, we just ate it anyway without complaining. The food is great, although it does taste slightly different to most Thai restaurants we have been too. With a few minor hiccups, it was still a good feed!
