This is not fine dinning, but the pizza's are authentic, and great value for money. I've worked in Hornsby for 10 years and Zi-Teresa have the best pizza's that I've found in the area. Don't let the simple "ambience" put you off, you can always take your pizza with you. Don't get enticed by the fancy looking places on the "other" side of the railway. Your taste buds with thank you.
Angelo and his family are great hosts they try and make you feel part of the family always very welcoming but at times especially on Friday nights when very busy have to have little patience but well worth waiting for. The pizzas are the best we’ve tasted and his pastas are very tasty especially the marinara. The place is very cosy and the Italian music is wonderful. We highly recommend it; it’s our kid’s favourite eating place.
The pizza is mediocre, the ambience? what ambience, it is almost as greasy and sleasy. I could stomach the pizza. I have been there a couple of times but only to takeaway, I would never eat in. I am sure it only stays open because of the drunks that frequently wobble in for some grub.
I have had pizzas from Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, from Assisi to Amalfi, from Zaragossa to Madrid, in Naples and Sorrento, but none better than this restaurant. Angelo has owned Zi Teresa sinca at least 1981, and we have been regular (on average once every 3-4 weeks) visitors over all those years. In fact apart from the quality of the pizzas themselves, a visit to Angelos is like a visit to your local Italian village.
Everyone knows everyone, and every regular knows a good pizza, including one person who is in the gourmet food business. All of our friends we have introduced to it over the years have become regulars too, if they live close enough. We have our favorite pizzas, and we don't deviate from them often. Marinara, using Angelo's own seafood mix, Margarita a purist's delight, and Supreme, which we have called "Green" for about ten years, because we have extra green capsicum.
Angelo cooks them to your specs if you want. For us that means a crust slightly Crisp on the outside, still a bit fluffy on the inside, the whole slightly underdone, so that the original juiciest of the ingredients is retained. Don't expect the Ritz when you visit Zi Teresa, but expect the best!
Food was moderate but service was absolutely appalling. They forgot our booking to start, then we waited an hour and a half just for an entree without even an apology for how long it took. Staff were rude and didn't even get cutlery till we went and got it ourselves!!
The pizza just doesn't taste good. Have tried eating here twice since moving to Hornsby and it's always gross. (The other pizza place isn't any better.) If we want pizza we go to Turramurra.
Have lived in USA for few years and the pizzaa there is the best, tried lot of pizza places but were not to any satisfaction till one of my friend suggeseted to try
angelos.
I must say this it is the best pizza place, forget the ambience and the slow service because it is definitely one man magic show by the master chef Angelo and the pizza are great, full of flavour and freshness, must try the chicken boscolla you will just love this.
This place does really good, traditional style Italian pizza. No BBQ Meatlovers here!!! We only ever get takeaway and it's always quick service. Our favourite pizza's are the Americana and Chicken Avocado.
Ordered a pick up pizza, did not even have to tell Angelo what I wanted and he suggested I try a special Pizza that he would make for me. On arrival he told me that it was called an "Angelo special", and no surprise it was his special, and probably one of the best Pizza's I have ever tasted. I ordered a side of nice Pasta which was very hot and fresh and extremely good value!
A place we always go to, Angelo and his food delicious but one night when me and the family went for a meal, a man not Angelo telling us to leave when it's only 8:00. We were shocked and disappointed with the bad service.
