I too have walked past this restaurant many times but didn't really think to go until I saw the good reviews here, so on a Friday night I brought my husband and friend for dinner. Good thing I made a reservation as the small place was quite busy with a few coming in to get takeaway.

Inside was nicely decorated and quite small so you can nearly hear everyone's conversation if they speak loudly but onto food. My husband had the soft shell crab roll which looked nice but taste wise we have had better, lack of seasoning as it tasted very bland, but his teriyaki beef main was tasty and probably one of the better ones I have tasted as it didn't taste ridiculously sweet. My friend and I had the eel and sashimi bento box which was nice but the salmon pieces were tiny!

Overall we walked out full and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be back since now I know there is another decent Japanese restaurant near me.

Food is great, although the menu could be bigger or at may be have some specials from time to time. We come here often and usually order the same thing, would be nice to see something different. But for my money, the best hassle free Japanese in Sydney!

My girlfriend and I eat here a lot. We are always happy to take people out for dinner to Zakura. Food is always fresh and delicious, you won't be disappointed!

The food we had was authentic Japanese in flavour and taste made all out of fresh ingredients. We were all pleasantly surprised by quality of the food, cleanliness of the kitchen and attention and service provided. Top value eatery. No doubt we will be going back to try some different dishes soon and recommending this cozy little place to our friends.

Fantastic discovery. I am a local and had walked past this place so many times. There is a lot of competition in The Junction for Japanese, but this has to be in the top 2 or 3! Food was excellent, ambience very pleasant.

Fantastic little place. The decor is warm and friendly and the food is sensational! My favourite was the beef tataki and the beef teriyaki with the owners own home made recipe!

I am a Japanese and I always enjoy the food at Zakura. I like Vege Tempura and Sashimi set, that was great meal! And owner is very kind and nice.

As a long time resident of the Junction, this has been an amazing discovery, I'd ignored the shopfront for years and barely noticed the new signage two years ago.

The most obvious standout feature is how elegant the interior is for a restaurant that's off a mall that (despite its facelift) isn't likely to win many beauty contests. If you're after something more intimate and stylish without being pricey, there's not a place like it in the Junction.

The food was great. The spicy pork was tasty but not too salty, and the Chicken katsu Udon was lovely, especially the noodles which seem hand made. The service, always a cut above with Japanese, was a great match for the fine food. Prawn tempura rolls were nice, and the grilled calamari was very tender. We'll be back for sure.

The prices are unsurprisingly a bit more than ichi-ban up the road, but still reasonable, two blokes ate plenty for just under $50.
