Attended on a Friday night, restaurant was fairly quiet. Young Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was quite nice and prices very reasonable. Unfortunately, the orange tablecloth on our table showed old stains, I guess they couldn't wash out. This lets the appearance of the whole restaurant down. I don't wish to sound too negative as the food was very nice. I would recommend this restaurant.

Love the food here and I miss the indian girls although the new staff are great. Just a bit pricey to frequent as much as I would like. I'm happy people feel like children are not welcome here as the last thing I want when I go out to dinner is whinging children around me, I'd sooner go hungry. More buy one main get one free please Ziaka!

It is obvious that the restaurant has undergone a change in waitressing staff, after reading the reviews below the problems stated have been fixed and addressed by the management. The staff that served us were attentive, very friendly and full of smiles. They did everything possible to make our dining experience wonderfull. Our children were presented with colouring pencils and books and since we attended the restraunt on a monday our children received free meals and a drink. The food was excellent and we will be returning.

We have eaten there before and the food and service was decent. We ate there a few days ago and the waitresses were very quiet and at times rude and hostile. I ended up asking where my entree after waiting 35 minutes and the waitress didn't say sorry or even be polite. She didn't say anything and just went in the kitchen. We waited all up an hour for the mains and the food was mediocre and of small quantity.
Then as we were talking after eating we noticed a few cockroaches crawling out from underneath the kitchen doors and over to our table which scared the kids ofcourse and made all of us physically sick. One waitress saw the cockroach and did absolutely nothing about it. They then crawled back into the kitchen. Its absolutely disgraceful and disgusting and I will never take my family there again!
Response from Management:
Dear Stuyet,
I appologise for the experience you had from ZAIKA. We always appreciate feedback from our valued customers which always be very helpful to improve our business. However I acknowledge your concern and we did rectified that issue of misconduct in our business by changing our recruitment policy and some other policies as well. Meal portions have also been reevaluated.
Rest assured you are most welcome to visit our kitchen and I am more than happy to show you around our premises and would like to show you procedures in place for food and hygiene. However we did had pest control done in late Sep and the cockroach incident could be isolated. And we always try to minimize the infestation by effective pest control program.
I would look forward to discuss with you to give us further opportunity to experience ZAIKA once again with your family. I would appreciate if you can contact me by email at admin@zaikaindianrestaurant.com.au.
Regards
Manager

We waited an hour and a half for the food. We asked the waiters if they could advise how long they thought it would be and they ignored us. They proceeded to serve their friends who came in after us! I had eaten there before and the food was quite nice but this time it looked old, and tasted old. Never going there ever again!

This restaurant used to be good but last night's dinner was very disappointing and I won't be back. Waited half an hour and had to ask twice for soft drink. Waited One hour and fifty minutes and had to ask twice for mains. Dirty plates left at our table after entree, and in fact, the whole restaurant was full of tables of dirty plates as they don't clean the table after diners leave.
We had a voucher so the meal was quite cheap in the end but not worth it even with about 30% off, the poor service, waiting nearly 2 hours to feed children and being surrounded by tables left dirty, it was not a pleasant experience. If you live locally, by all means order takeaway but don't expect much from dining in.

We went there tonight for Dinner, we booked ahead as the last time we went we were turned away with the kids saying you were fully booked, this time I booked and when we arrived we were not made to feel welcome with the kids. We ordered two entree's, 3 breads two mains and asked if there was kids size butter chicken meals and were told there wasn't so we asked for the another main butter chicken meal for the kids to share.
We also ordered a large rice and 4 soft drinks. The girl read back the order with the butter chicken included. When the mains came out we received all but the kids butter chicken. The kids did Not eat, it had also been removed from the bill. I really feel as though children are not welcome here at all. The entire time we were there they were asking for their meal. It did not arrive at all and we had to take them to mcdonalds afterwards so they could eat.
I also noticed that my entree did not come out sizzling and fresh like the two of the same came out for the other tables. There was also a big wait of about 25 minutes to half an hour between entree and main. Was this our punishment for bringing children into the restaurant? Very disappointed. Staff are not friendly at all and never smile, had to be told to clear our table after entrees as well.
A bit on the pricey side for what you're getting and unlike other indian restaurants you do not get the free poppadum's and sauce whilst you're waiting for your meals to arrive. Indian in High street Penrith so much better and kid friendly.

Very good malai kofta, chicken tikka masala, mixed vegetable. Nicely balanced spice and flavours. Naans were soft. Service not professional but courteous and attentive. Premises very neat and clean but may need a bit of renovation outside.

Fairly large place spread over what appears to have been two adjoining shops. Could do with Indian pictures, items etc and maybe Indian music to give that Indian feel/look to the restaurant. Can be a bit of an unpleasant area so quick move from car to front door is not out of character.
Generally nice food but the Samosa was way overdone and may have been around for a while. Mains are modest in size (typical of Indian cuisine servings?) but are priced for a large portion. Staff were Ok at best on the night but it was clear that one girl was a learner although she did try hard and maybe needed a little more support.

The food is fantastic. Good value with online offers from their website. We used online coupon from website www.zaikaindianrestaurant.com.au which is Free MEAL offer. Good flavours, courteous staff. Chicken tikka masala is my favourite. I been visiting this place from last two years, never had an issue with food or flavours. Very consistent and good indian restaurant.
