I went there a while back and food was lovely. We got the antipasto plate with the moussaka and the waiter kept coming back to top you our antipasto plate. um... yummmy... out door dining has quite the atmosphere.
I'm not too sure about some of the reviewers here giving this restaurant high scores with only one review to their name. Anyway, this place is pretty average IMHO. I've been twice this year, and the first time was better than the most recent visit. The best things I've tried were the saganaki and the dips, everything else was just ok. I do think it's pretty reasonably priced.
I went to this cafe for lunch on the strength of the reviews on this site and I was so disappointed. There were four of us for lunch. The waiter was friendly but a little odd. When we sat down he didn't give anyone a menu, and took our drink order. When he came back, he asked who was having soup, we said we didn't know because we didn't know what else was on the menu. He finally brought menus and we ordered 1 haloumi cheese, 1 greek salad, 1 dip platter and 1 chicken souvlaki to share between three.
The waiter did not bring any share plates for us, we had to reshuffle the meals onto the existing plates even though he knew we were sharing. The haloumi came out and looked good but it was three small pieces of cheese for around $12, at least it tasted good. Then the dips came out, there were three dips in small plates, tarasamalatta, tzaziki and a feta cheese dip with toasted pita bread. The first two tasted ok, but the feta cheese dip tasted mouldy.
The salad came out next but it wasn't a greek salad. It was a bowl of mixed green leaf (looks like it came in a bag from coles) with some tomato and onions, there was no feta cucumber or olives in the salad. Then the chicken souvlaki came out. There were two skewers on a bed of rice (looked like risotto) with the same green salad, a small tzaziki dip and pita bread, we were excited until we tasted it. The rice tasted like glue, we were surprised how you could get rice to taste so wrong and the chicken didn't taste like a souvlaki at all, just very bland and barely edible.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you like greek food go to the other end of Parramatta and try Kouzina Greco, the food there is delicious.
We went on a thursday night and it was very quiet. The person who served us seemed to be the owner. We ordered an entree and 2 mains. Main took quite a while to come out (considering we were the only customers inside) but when it did it was quite good. Salad was very fresh and everything quite tasty. Only let down was the person who served us was quite pushy, if he had his way we would have had 2 entrees, 2 mains, 2 desserts, which would have been way too much. Price didn't justify what was plated, but was made up for by the ambience, as it was very quiet and allowed us to have a good conversation.
Went to Yefsi early one saturday morning not expecting anything outstanding (as I'd never been before). I have eaten a lot of cafe breakfasts in my time and I can pick a good one and this was the best I have ever had.
Hands down, no kidding, surprised the socks of me. For a very reasonable price we received a full, and I mean FULL, plate of perfectly poached eggs, 4 big pieces of haloumi, baked beans, bacon, mushrooms, etc. It was so amazing I wanted to take a picture of it.
I've been telling everyone about it since, and if you're ever in the Parramatta area I highly recommend Yefsi to anyone looking for an amazing breakfast.
The service was great, they are really friendly and I truly wish them the best. Great little establishment.
I am also keen to try it for dinner as the reviews here are very good so I'll be sure to post once I do.
I'm not a regular reviewer but I'm an absolute foodie. Thought I'd post a review for Yefsi after enjoying a terrific meal and some careful encouragement by the manager who explained the cafe was recently opened. In short, our visit to Yefsi was delightful.
The food was fantastic, and having never eaten Greek I was blown away with the lamb and the prawn saganaki (I hope I've spelt that correctly). The service was fast and friendly and atmosphere was relaxed, clean and modern. Certainly a must try for those in the Parramatta area. I wish Yefsi the best of luck, but regardless - I'll certainly be back.
I stumbled across this restaurant while waiting for my movie to start at the cinema, and it really took me by surprise. With a very simple menu I didn't know what to expect but I can tell you I will be going back again, the slow cooked lamb was to die for the salads so fresh, and dessert excellent, and at reasonable prices. The waiter took good care of us, the decor was very warm and inviting and the soft greek music mad me feel I was not in parramatta. So all in all a very enjoyable night. Would recommend this restaurant to all.
I ate at Yefsi knowing the food should be good as the owner also owns Cafe Encore inside Westfield and I have never been disappointed going there. Yefsi was great as well. The olives and fetta were a nice touch at the beginning of the meal. The mains we had were great (Chicken Yefsi was highly recommended by the table) and we had our dessert selected by the manager which was a filo pastry filled with custard. I don't like custard much but it was delicious. I have got to have this yummy food again soon and will definitely be back.
Great restaurant, its young fresh modern, and serves wonderful greek food that melts in your mouth! The service was also fantastic, so I will 100% be going back and taking more friends and family, as I know all will enjoy!
