We've been to The Woolpack Hotel a few times now and, unfortunately, each time is disappointing. They are under-staffed and the staff they do have on are rude and uninterested.

The steak sandwich is terrible with the meat being chewy and fatty. It's very difficult to eat as it's also strangely served on what appears to be two slices of garlic bread. How they can ruin such a basic dish is amazing!

We also tried the salmon but it was tasteless and obviously straight from the freezer. When I asked the staff if this is their standard steak sandwich (thinking, perhaps, it was just a bad night or they had run out of ingredients), they rolled their eyes and then laughed behind the bar about it to each other. Nice customer service!

Definitely won't be back there.

The new bistro menu seemed good at first, juicy steak sandwich, decent burgers and good chips but it's gone downhill fast. The sausages in the bangers and mash seemed to have come straight from the freezer, the chip oil hadn't been changed for a while and the garlic bread was burnt on one side and raw on the other. I still like coming here to drink, even though the beers are a little expensive, but I won't eat here again.

Nice improvement with the new menu, most dishes good value and tasty. Stop putting mains in bowls guys, plates are meant to be flat with minimal raised edges!

I have no complaint with the food, it was good enough for a pub bistro. The staff, on the other hand, need an attitude review. I don't know whether they were feeling panicky because something had gone wrong behind the scenes, but these people were simply rude. We left, vowing never to return.

Friendly local pub that does the simple things well. A solid menu, nothing surprising but I like the comfort of knowing that you can always get a good meal at a great price. Great burgers, excellent service and always a lot of fun.
