Very average to below average food. Unable to execute dishes which are standard South Indian fare to any degree of perfection. Will not travel to Liverpool and spend my hard earned money on this place for a while at least.
Excellent food. Very big servings. To those who doubt that veges can fill you up, you haven't been here! Don't be scared to try new things here! Very fulfilling. The owner is also very friendly.
Gobi Manchurian/ chat items are very good and authentic, however ordered a cheese roast dosa expecting a small amount sprinkled for taste, instead got a large amount of cheese stuffed into the dosa, could not eat it completely.
Can't beat it if you want to taste and enjoy South Indian food. Masala dosa ( hot pancake !), is highly enjoyable. Restaurant manager was very friendly and service was one of the best we ever had. Great ambience with an instrumental Indian music in the background.
The price of a a Thali ( which has a variety of Indian dishes served in a large plate) is too less as it costs that much more than that for a single dish normally. Make it a point to visit this resturant if you are in the vicinity of this area. You'll remember the great experience for a long time.
First time eating South Indian... should have asked them to turn down the chilli level! It was fine until towards the end of the meal. I had the masala dosa since it was recommended here... eh... was okay I guess... despite being spicey it was still a little bland. Perhaps I was just thrown by how different it all was to all my previous Indian experiences; I could get used to it?
I also tried my first galub jamon (sp?) which was very sweet and nice... must be so bad for you, but life is more fun trying new things! When I compare it to 'normal' Indian food (eg palak paneer) I think I'd go the normal.
All that said, the owner was so lovely and explained everything very happily; wonderful man, and for that I'd be willing to give it a second chance. I think people should give this place a go; it may or may not be for everyone, but don't be scared of new things!
This is a Vegetarian only restaurant. The masala dosai's were the best I'v eaten. They were so crispy and tasty. Although it's a bit pricy for vegetarian food, you get your money worth!
Woodlands has one of the best foods. The dhosa's are extremely lovely. Once I went to the restaurant in the year 2000 my first time i really loved the food. The service is alright not that bad. The qaulity of the food is not that bad and the prices are alright. I rate this restaurant ten out of ten.
You must order the dosa!!! This place does the best dosa, (they are crispy pancakes like you have never eaten). Also the Thali is good too as you get a bit of everything. Yummo!
