So impressed with this restaurant! We had a booking for ten people before going to see a show at starcity. We had the banquet which was divine! Food was awesome and very fresh, service was great! Excellent place would recommend to all!
Still the best Thai in Pyrmont! Have tried many of the others, and they don't compare in terms of flavour or freshness. Great option for a drop in dinner on the way home. Byo is good too.
Highly recommend the duck and spring rolls, the salmon king, the ginger and mushroom stir fry is tops! Nice new fitout, but lacking proper access to the bathroom which is via the kitchen!
We're Thai food lovers and definite this one is the best we had in Sydney! The taste is almost authentic, even better than the restaurants we had in bangkok and Chiang Mai. We love trying diff Thai rest in Sydney and at the end of the day we seem to come back to this restaurant. We give it 5 stars all the way!
An impromptu visit, no reservation was greeted with the only table was on the footpath where it is noisy. We persevered and were seated indoors where there were some empty tables. Efficient service initially and following ordering one entree arrived and it took some time before the next to hit the table. They didn't appear busy.
The mains arrived simultaneously, that is two of the three and one of the two rice dishes. We three diners assumed that the other would eventually be served. It wasn't. A polite reminder and still nothing. At the end of the abbreviated meal we voiced concern which caused much apologies from the gentleman who identified himself as the owner. Little consolation.
The food was OK without any real celebration. The portions were ample and the banana/vine leaf a nice touch, however, the seafood dish was let down by a lack of seafood except the ubiquitous calamari which generously filled the plate. Is this a trick for a restaurant so close to the Sydney Fish Markets?
The satay chicken entree was dry yet the peanut sauce was acceptable. The samui rice was of a good standard yet small in portion. The fish cakes were rubbery and inconsistent with an authentic Thai product. Mass production letting it down? The main vegetarian stir fry ordered with tofu arrived without the tofu and was taken back after a gentle reminder. It was delicious when it did surface.
Maybe it's me but I did not see any prominent signs indicating they did not accept cards and when paying was lucky to have the cash amount. I accept that BYO is the advantage and it's quick, however, if you're looking for a true Thai experience think twice about eating in this place. We will.
For me, the mark of a good Thai restaurant has got to be it's be its peanut satay and this place nails it. Try the satay chicken, it's a must as they char grill the chunky chicken pieces. The oyster's are exceptional as well as their pad thai. Definitely the best Thai in Pyrmont.
I've been coming here for years. I would highly recommend Wok Station to anyone. Salmon King is yumo and I love their choo fish chee prawns. Staff are super friendly. BYO which is a bonus. Best Thai joint in Pyrmont, maybe even Sydney.
Best duck in red curry I've ever had but quality isn't always consistent. Special lunch prices are great but again, food volumes are inconsistent - sometimes the take-away container is packed and sometimes it's only 3/4 full. Dining service can vary, depending on how busy the restaurant is. Home delivery is quite prompt. If you phone in to order a meal for pick-up, make sure you get the order number especially if you've asked for slight changes to a dish (e.g. not too spicy). Otherwise, you might end up getting someone else's order (same meal but without the changes you asked for).
