We have been going to the Wok Bar for years as we love the food and location. We went last night after booking online and when we got there we were told that there wasn't a booking and that they don't take online bookings for Friday and Saturday nights. If that's the case, why did I get an email confirmation for the booking?

The waiter wasn't happy about it but did accommodate our request and gave us table at the front where I had requested in the booking. Lucky there was only two of us. I'd hate to think what would have happened if there was a few more of us.

Yum Cha menu always provides a delicious assortment of steamed dumplings at around $7.90 for a plate of 4. The prawn dumplings and bbq pork buns always go down a treat. The seats overlooking the beach provide a memorable experience, but booking is necessary as they are in demand.

Service is average (not bad) but they are happy to accommodate. Nothing special however. We lunch regularly here as the dumplings always taste as delicious as the last time.

Tasty and big servings that are great value. Service can be a little hit and miss, but they are often so busy that you can't blame them. Great for a casual dinner, even better if you can get a table on the balcony for a romantic lunch.

I recently booked a table for 14 people in person 3 weeks before the night. I requested a table at the front. Why else would you go there. On the night we were given the table right at the back! This table had no view, it was hot, very noisy and doesn't even have proper chairs, which doesn't sit well when you have your parents in their 80's with you. How can this happen? The staff showed no concern for their error. It was a special occasion birthday evening and I will never return to this establishment. I have never been so poorly treated.

Wok bar has been one of our favourites for a Long time. Consistently good food and exceptional service. We are always amazed at how accommodating they are to our children which means we all have a great time. The location and price are also perfect. Well done Wok Bar!

The location and style are great with quite a buzz so more for the young but the food and service fail to really impress. Nice but not great.

Came here once again after not coming here so long (again), the last couple of times we had such a terrible experience so we thought we'd give it one last chance, oh how wrong I was. Three of us walked in ad-hoc thursday night it was quite busy (15th of July 2010), mostly packed with 12 year olds (and now I know why).

Food: Was 'exceptionally horrible', I ordered the pork belly, one word, disgusting, the others in my group had chicken pad thai (Bland bland bland) and red curry (watery with no taste, curry was not even red!.

Service: Non-existent that night, it was packed with teen kids (that should say everything), we even had to clear our own plates when the main arrived.

We gave it a couple of shots but enough is enough, this place has gone completely downhill since its original tiny spot near the corner of the strand, will not be returning ever!

Great value, very tasty food with good presentation, service was ok. On the downside, the noise was close to unbearable, they need to have more soft furnishings to absorb the sound.

Always busy and with good reason. The food is nothing standout but decent, tasty, Thai/Malay/Japanese combo food. Theres plenty of life, and great views to boot.
The service is never spectacular, but its never been too bad either. A great local eatery.
