I have taken many groups to Winston Gardens over many years. The food is excellent and fresh. Ambience excellent and the small band and dance floor for those who love a shuffle or dance adds value to a great night out! Service is very good and the Banquet food keeps coming... Winston Gardens Chinese Restaurant is outstanding value for money and would highly recommend that you take the special person in your life, family, friends or have a special occasion there!

My partner & I recently enjoyed a wonderful meal @ Winston Gardens despite them being run off their feet we always felt looked after & nothing was a problem the food came out reasonably quickly & was definitely worth the short wait as it was absolutely delicious! Having recently moved away from the area we drive 20 min's but it is worth the trip - the food is 2nd to none and the staff are very accommodating even when they are very busy! The fact the restaurant is busy is a positive as it is extremely popular (for good reason) & the food comes out steaming hot. Highly recommended for celebrations, couples, families - anyone & everyone you just have to try it you will not be disappointed!

I just love this place. I've not been disappointed once (although I have not visited for around a year and a half due to no longer being local).
A little on the pricey side, but service is great. The servings are well proportioned and promptly delivered. The staff are friendly and very attentive, and quick to offer more drinks. It does get busy quickly, with hoards of locals clammering and celebrating, but that doesn't seem to slow the service down. Does get a bit loud though!
The atmosphere is a bit poorly lit (only houselights, no table lights). The mirror does help make the area feel larger, but also dated. The linens and cutlery are clean, and there's a good amount of space between tables. It does get loud when busy, but not more than any other popular chinese restaurant.
The food is quite anglo, but clearly that's what the customers want. If you want authentic chinese, perhaps, the hills district should be considered after parramatta and chinatown. But if you're after good food, quick service and a welcoming staff then give Winston Gardens a shot.

We keep returning to the Gardens and are never disappointed. The quality and service has always been great for take-away, functions and family meals. Where else are you offered a glass of wine while you wait for the take away? The restaurant can be a little noisy on weekends but it is the sound of people having a great time and meal!

I have been going to this place for years! It is the best chinese in Sydney by a mile. Staff are friendly and helpful, food comes out fast, the bill is quite reasonable. I truly love this place. Good idea to book cause does get busy. I drive from Kensington to get the salt and pep squid and satay comb. The best in Syd!

The waiters were friendly but intrusive. There were so many waiters standing around at the beginning, I was astounded. The food was a big disappointment. I had the worst Chinese food in the longest time. It was just very average, lacked a lot of flavour, worst Mongolian combination I have had, crispy skin chicken was super dry and lacked flavour.
The waiters tried to be friendly, but there were too many of them, and when we were done with the meal, they had all disappeared on us, and we were hanging around for quite a while. The fried ice cream wasn’t the best either.
The Hills is screaming for some good restaurants, unfortunately, there is not one decent restaurant in the hills. To put it in perspective The Baulkham Palace is average, yet the food was better than Winston gardens. We dined late last year, but I never got around to a review. But it was always a lingering bad experience. I couldn’t care if the service was mediocre, just as long as the food is great, but it just wasn’t.
If they got rid of all the excess waiters and put the resources into the cooking, then hopefully the food may improve. I don’t think I have eaten so little at a Chinese restaurant in my history, even the fried rice was ordinary. I am still shocked at the rating of 8.2 for food. I could give them a sarcastic 14/10 for service because there were so many, but it wasn’t like the service was all that pleasant, it felt forced, and uncomfortable. They really tried too hard to impress.
I would definitely give the restaurant 10/10 for effort. They have the right attitude and they tried so hard to please, but their kitchen just fell way short of the mark. In fact they even gave us complementary port as I recall, be it ordinary, but you just can’t artificially buy customers in the end. The food is the backbone. Sorry guys, this is probably the reason why I didn’t want to post a review before, but the truth is the food is poor.

Twice in one week, that's a record for us. I've just moved to the area, and tried the restaurant out on Friday night. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. The wait staff are very attentive and have a joke with you without being intrusive. The food was very nice, and the bill at the end of the night didn't hurt at all. This is my new local Chinese, very impressed.

The service is friendly and attentive and they serve large portion sizes, but I couldn't help thinking that some of their dishes were a bit bland and not very authentic. Salt and pepper squid was the highlight for me. Bit baffled at their high rating, it's okay, but not superb.
