Just ate at Wharfy's with my daughter, we loved it!! I had the Liver and Bacon, she had Eggs Benedict, both were excellent, as was the coffee. And our waitress was charming, highly recommended.
The view over the wharf is very pleasant. However I was a little disappointed with the breakfast! My eggs benedict was drowned in hollandise, the bacon a little fatty and toast burnt. Wharfys was recommended to me so I'm not sure if I just visited on a bad day?
Absolutly outstanding eggs benedict with all the trimmings.. though it's very unassuming - even more so than I thought it would be having seen the reviews here. But the breakfast was so good that I've just reserved a table again for this weekend.
Wharfy's is a great place but only because the location is a little unexpected. The cafe itself is old and tired and could do with a make over even if it is only minor. The decor is very uninviting and the kitchen could do with a good clean. The menu is not bad for a breakfast/snack/very casual lunch, but, unfortunately, the food itself isn't fab.
Don't order a burger if you're expecting a traditional aussie treat, no beetroot and very "homestyle" paddy with tasteless cheese. Infact all the food is presented and tastes a little on the homestyle side, like I said, if it wasn't for the quirky location and the friendly owners, you'd probably just eat before you left home.

A place to visit after walking along the harbour from Neutral Bay on a Saturday morning, have breakfast, and catch the ferry a few stops to Cremorne Point to stroll back. In that milieu, the break for sustenance at Wharfy's is very comforting. It has a great casual feel and relaxed service with largish serves of food. However, it is really a hole-in-the-wall and so suffers from mediocre ambience.
What a great unpretentious place to have a coffee or eat a very good meal. The wharf provides an interesting back ground. Dara and Irene and their crew serve really great food in a pleasent manner. Wharfey's does not need to pretend, no swank, just great value and great food in a very pleasent atmosphere. Wharfy's is a well kept secret.
The food is very good. This little place well deserves its recognition for the quality and freshness of the food it serves, and the service was friendly and efficent. The surrounds are pretty ordinary, being situated on a wharf, but the food and service more than compensate for this. They serve breakfast all day, as well as dishes such as Nasi Goreng.
My boyfriend and I searched out Wharfy's after looking at reviews for local cafes. We were a little shocked at first that the "best breakfast in the world" was at such a non-descript location but left very happy customers at the end. The guy who runs the place is a really welcoming and it was fun watching the ferries come and go.
I had the french toast which was fantastic, and my partner had bacon and eggs. He said his breakfast was hearty but was really distracted by the coffee which he said was the best he had tasted so far in Sydney. Overall, a quiet wonderful little spot that doesn't scream pretention. The prices are reasonable too. We will make Wharfys part of our weekend ritual!
