Misleading take away menu!! They have discount take away menu for lunch and 5-7 pm dinner time. I had lunch take away before and it was ok, fair price. By the time when I order take away at 6 pm. They responded: "Yes, it is the same discount menu but different price".
I have dined in this restaurant and ordered takeaway several times. In general the food is average but overpriced. Service is appalling! We waited for 1 and a half hours for our home delivery (we were told to expect 40 - 45 minutes) and on each of the three times I called to enquire about our order, I was placed on hold and subsequently told a staff would call me back.....which did not happen. Absolutely atrocious. Never again!
A very ordinary Indian restaurant - if it is not the worst Indian meal we have had it would be pretty close. The entrees of fried onion rings and samosas had probably been around a while and the mains of chicken korma and prawns were little better than poor. Chicken separately cooked and thrown into a sauce while the prawns were very small and almost certainly cheap imports. Avoid if possible.
Went for an early evening veg thali and as we were 1st customers it was beautifully fresh. Service and decor not as good. I would defo use for take away but not a special occasion.
Went here for a quick pre-theatre meal. The service seemed good but the restaurant was fairly empty. The entree of lamb chops came out within 5 minutes of ordering which makes you wonder how fresh it was. The mains were pretty good. The Naan stuffed with potato was a nice touch. We got the fish curry which was supposed to have barramundi but instead we were served Basa (which is 1/3rd the price?!). We were in a hurry so didn't bother questioning it but if you do order that dish, better make sure you're getting what you pay for! Good value with the entertainment book discount though.
Was recommended Vrindavan by an Indian guy who used to live in Pyrmont. Always get takeaway/delivery (it's free) and ordered many times (some the next day to get more naan bread to go with our leftovers!) and it never disappoints. Love the lamb korma and mango chicken and friends are always impressed with our choice. Took some leftovers into work and many were hovering around my desk hoping I had made it and would invite them over for dinner.
Been in the restaurant a few times to order and it looks nice and staff are friendly. Considering the quality and how many meals you get out of it (one main, one rice and a naan each between two people) I think its great value. Discount voucher in the takeaway menu for those griping about price.
Went and tried this place considering live in the area. The service is attentive, the ambience was ok. The food was ok, nothing really special and the curries were nice. Price is ok, maybe slightly pricey than the standard indian restaurant. Its a place I'd try and maybe go back in 6-12 months.
I have just moved into the area and noticed this place was regularly packed out. Went last week and it did not disappoint. I am not a huge fan of Indian food, but can say that the ingredients were of high quality and fresh, the service was very attentive and the dishes very tasty. Great value too. Give it a go!
I've had take-away from this restaurant many many times and eaten in just once (as a group of six). The service is good, the food is great - we love the Chicken Do Piaza and the Lamb Rogan Josh is fantastic.
