Vrindavan Indian Restaurant has been in operation since October 2000. Licensed and B.Y.O., the restaurant has a seating capacity of 80 pax. Located at 261 Harris Street, Pyrmont, it's close to Darling Harbour and Star City Casino. Vrindavan is a unit of 'Vrindavan Kripa Pty Ltd', which is the dream project of husband and wife team Praveen Kumar and Beena. Under the veteran leadership of Praveen alias Perry who has more than twenty five years of experience in Indian and International cookery, this infant company has another popular eatery 'Kaavery Casual Indian Dining', Pendle Hill.
From its start in 2000 Vrindavan has been tantalising the taste buds of thousands of customers in Sydney and around the world. Its centralised location at the heart of the city makes the restaurant more popular with international tourists than Sydney siders.
The restaurant is highly recommended by tourists back home in India and U.K., which brings more craving tourists in search of home style Indian food to its door steps.

Tried it for the first time and very impressive, the curries matches the description they mentioned and really good value for money. Great flavours and Chichen tikka masala was too good.

I have tried and been to many Indian restaurants in the sutherland shire and I can say that nothing surpasses Vrindavan. The service is friendly and always helpful. They have a range of different dishes to choose from and the food is simply outstanding. It is more expensive than other Indian Restaurants but it is well worth the extra price.

Very average, nothing special about the restaurant, the food or the service. Okay as a local meal for the residents in the area but not worth the travel for those living outside the inner-city area.

My husband and I went here last night. Restaurant was clean (more importantly toilets were clean, although very outdated). Service was good, waiter did forget to bring our water and we had to ask twice but no problem. Pappadums and dips were tasty, bit of a wait for mains, but well worth waiting for. Lamb Korma, Chicken Malai and vegetarian Lentil dish were freshly made and very tasty. Dessert of Pistachio Kulfi was good also. Well worth a visit and very handy to Darling Harbour. Good value meal.

The food here was of a good standard with the service friendly and accommodating. Would only say that the place could be improved with more subdued lighting. It was a bit bright.

We tried this restaurant the first time last Saturday (wish we read the review before hand tho). The first impression was the staff were rude, he didn't even lead us to our table, just pointed at the table, took ages to bring the menu and when we were ready to order, there was no one around, almost walked to the counter to ask them.
Again took ages for the food to come out, this time we actually went to the counter to check on the food as no waiter was around. The food was acceptable, but you can find this quality elsewhere with better service. Took ages to pay for the bill as they said the phone lines were busy, we decided to pay cash to get out of there as soon as possible. Never come back! Surprise that they are still in business with such a bad service!

I agree with Remash's review on 18/7/10. Went there recently and was shocked at how long everything took. Waited forever for the food and no one came even once to ask if we needed anything. Kept having to ask and be on the lookout for someone passing by.
The service was terrible, I rate it zero out of 10 because there was none. The food was mediocre. They seemed to be busy with takeaway but such a pity they couldn't care less about their customers eating in. Will never go back and strongly urge others not to go unless they like waiting and waiting and waiting.

Just finish Sunday dinner in Vrindavan Indian Restaurant at Pyrmont. What disappointed meals and service. It will make me whole week sick. The service is terrible. There was no smile on waitress’ face and no sorry for denying a "doggie" bag for leftovers. The food was not very fresh, as no many customers went there, we guess. If you have plenty of time, you can kill time there. Because we took long time to get our meals. We don’t recommend you to go to this restaurant. Don’t waste your time. Don’t waste your money.

You go here for, expensive takeaway. Food, most items on menu are well prepared but lack consistency! Recommendation - Chicken Do Piaza with Garlic Naan. Ambience - cold. effortless. shabby. Definitely does not reflect the price you pay for the meals. Will continue doing regular take-aways.

Great service headlines the restaurant, and it's supplemented by some very nice food, although I would say nothing unusual on the menu as far as Indian restaurants in Sydney go.
On a Saturday night, the ambience was perfect, not too many people, but enough to make you think you've come to a decent establishment. The tables and chairs are a little bit shabby, but it's certainly not aiming to be 5 star I suppose.
Overall, standard menu with delicious food. The vegetarian I ordered was, perhaps, a bit spicy, might be worth advising the level of spice you're into, as normally I can take most things but this was pretty full on.
Still, good stuff all round. Two of us had mains and a vegetarian platter shared for an entree plus a naan, $50 for the pair. It's more than feasible that a couple could share a main, the portions are bigger than they look!
