VIVO Cafe is the pride and joy of brother and sister co-owners, Con and Angela Vithoulkas.

VIVO Café is located at 388 George Street and brews more coffees for Sydneysiders from Monday to Friday than any other Sydney CBD outlet.

VIVO is a unique venue for breakfast or lunch as well as for corporate meetings and launches, private parties and events. VIVO is famous for crafting the tastiest breakfast and lunch menus in Sydney.

VIVO Cafe is open from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday and offers all day dining, take-away meals, sensational coffee and free WIFI.

I love coming here. Love the ambience, the coffee and the free wi-fi. Vivo is Sydney's hub for business meetings. Whenever I am in Sydney, Vivo is always a part of my day.

Last night we took advantage of the special deal for the City Recital Hall pre-concert dinner. Both of our meals (steak for me and prawn risotto for Hubby) were excellent, perfectly cooked and delicious. The service too, by Angela and her 2 young waitstaff could not be faulted. Great coffee too! We would definitely go back and not just for the special deal.

Came in for breakfast. Fruit Salad was definitely not fresh, fruit was already starting to go brown and it was still morning. My toast was nice and a decent serving and service staff were friendly and attentive.

Great vibe, lots of fun. Owner is a scream and actually remembers your name! I am surprised by the reviews here, we had a ball and have been there a number of times now with the same warm experience. Food was lovely with generous serves and everything was first class, including the coffee.

Can't say it was that bad. Coffee was great and service was swift for the [moderately high] number of customers that were there.

Wedesday the 6th of May 2009, the 6 of us went to Vivo for lunch. We need an extra table. A blonde waitress (looks like a surpervisor) asked a lady who was sitting next to us on a single table to leave because the lady was waiting for her friend to come and haven't ordered yet.

The lady said can I order now. The waitress said the table was reserved ( we didn't make any reservasion). After the lady left with anger, the waitress moved the table for us.

She saw one of our friends brought his own lunch, and asked him not to eat it because it was against the legislation. Our friend was pissed off, but he didn't say anything.

The food haven't come ages after we ordered, so I asked another waitress when would our food come. 3 minutes later, the blonde waitress came with our food and said to us, " It only took 14 minutes 53 seconds for us to cook the food. It wasn't that long, was it." then left.

We didn't give any tips for sure.

Disagree with most of the comments below, staff was very courteous and the food was very tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed Vivo and will definitely go back. It is also good to see a 'small' operator successfully compete against the coffee chain giants! Well worth our support!

Food was ok.. yes overpriced, may as well go to a proper restaurant and pay for quality. Service was pretty good, kiwi girl served us she was really nice and helpful (must've been new, since the rest of the people were cold). The senior staff had no problems with abusing her staff infront of customers.

The blonde waitress/manageress is not very customer focused. She doesn't like to split bills and has such a bad attitude, customer service = ZERO. Food is very overpriced, $20 for penne pasta with a bit of garlic, chilli and basil, what a joke.
