Food was pretty good. Had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for the Paella, which was a little dry. (They did warn us!). Maybe a drizzle of olive oil would have helped. Good staff, the chef came out to have a chat which was great.
We have been here several times now and the food and service is always great. The quality of the food is great and the service always very friendly. We have tried several Portuguese restaurants and this was certainly worth recommending and revisiting time and time again.
It is a nice family restaurant. The food was delicious especially the sauces on the meat skewers. I thought there were good choices of side dishes and there was a good variety in the menu. I went with four people and we really enjoyed it and will definitely go back again.
We visted the restaurant last evening purely because of the reviews it had received. We ordered garlic bread and 2 meat skewers. The side consisted of cheap salad vegies and chips. The garlic bread was served, it was like it was something out of Coles and not fresh. The meat was OK. Overall, either I am a fussy eater or this place is over rated.
We first discovered Villa Moura in early 2008, when some friends invited us to join them there for Dinner. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have been back several times in the past year with various friends. Our most recent visit to Villa Moura was on the 9th of May 2009 to celebrate my husband's 50th Birthday with a group of our closest friends and family. As always, the food was superb ( we selected the Portuguese Chicken and and the Lamb from the Skewer Menu this time, but in the past have tried various other skewers and other dishes on the Menu all delicious and attractively presented! ) The friendly service is great and the dishes are excellent value for money.
A great evening, various skewers of meat, tender and served in a very traditional style. The evening was rounded off with a great chat with Carlos and a hot bottle of peri peri. Hope to be back there soon, to drink the bottle of bubbly we left behind and also to have a couple of Dom Pedros!
What a great restaurant, my family and I regularly attend this restaurant and all think that the food and service is brilliant. The menu and prices are very very good, with the food great. Congrats to the owner/chef.
Awesome food. As everyone says if you come here you have to have the skewers. I was apprehensive about a skewer filling me up, and then they brought it out, it was huge. The meat just melts in your mouth. It is so filling you don't really need an entree which makes it great value for money. Recommend it and can't wait to come again. Little bit squashy for large groups but who cares! YUM!
Excellent food and excellent value for money. Took the whole family for 70th Birthday celebration and everyone from the 70 year old to the 7 year old want to go back very soon! Thanks Carlos, will see you on Mothers day.
I booked a table here for my wedding anniversary (after reading all of these great reviews). When we arrived and told the waiter our booking name etc he turns around and places us on the table squashed near the front door. Husband asks if we could move somewhere else and he looks around the mostly-empty restaurant and says um, no. There're all taken. And then that was it. No attempts to help us whatsoever. So we left.
