Verde Restaurant Bar is fully licensed and offers extensive local and Italian wine, spirit and signature cocktails. Our wine portfolio is extensive stocking approximately 90 different labels and a selection of 17 wines offered by the glass.

Overview of Verde Restaurant Bar

Verde Restaurant Bar is Stanley Streets newest establishment. Our menu is based on traditional Italian cuisine with modern influences. Some of our recipes have been passed on from our grandmothers who live in a small village in Southern Calabria called San Giovanni di Gerace.

We have sourced the finest local ingredients as well as specialties direct from Italy. Our pastas are hand made on the premises by our chefs each day.

We are situated in an iconic Victorian "Italianate" building on the corner of Stanley and Riley Streets. The building has been restored back to its former glory. The interiors have undergone major works resulting in the restoration of original detail fused with contemporary design. The ground floor has overtones of a classic Italian restaurant dominated by dark timbers, white linen and exposed timber ceiling whilst the first floor bar area displays a rich palette of finishes and textures.

The heritage building has been beautifully refurbished, with a completely new fit out, which now includes a lounge bar on the 1st floor.

Visited Verde for the first time last night with my partner and we both really enjoyed ourselves. Service was efficient and not intrusive. Food was well presented and delicious, zucchini flowers were amazing, nice wine list as well. Would definitely recommend.

First time eating here, wasn't disappointed, food was well presented and tasty. The waiter ordered a selection of entrees for us [which were great!]. Service was very good. Will come back for sure.

Lovely food, waitress was lovely. The Chocolate Fondente is delicious as is the Chicken Ravioli available as part of the $22 Monday menu.

We dropped in for lunch on a Monday. It was a gorgeous day and we sat near an open door which made heightened the ambience and our feeling of well being.

As there were five of us we opted to share everything and this, thankfully, is encouraged. The food was outstanding from the zucchini flowers and arancini balls right through to snapper papparadelle and prawn linguine followed by barramundi with lentils and delicious veal.

Coffees were also taken but no desert on this occasion as no one had any room left. This is a good thing because we must make haste back to Verde to try them. Our waiters were fantastic too. Highly recommended.

I came here for dinner with a group of 15 so we were in the private dining room. I really enjoyed it, and look forward to going back to sample more of what they have! For $50 we had a choice of 4 mains & 4 deserts which I felt was good value for the food that we received. I had barramundi on a bed of lentils and it was cooked to perfection. My desert choice was a big delicious tirramisu. We shared some entrees across the table (extra charge) and the potato fritters were so yummy it was hard to stop at one. The wine list featured several of my favorites so it was a great experience and I will be back!

What an amazing meal! We walked in off the street and were surprised that we only had the choice of two unreserved tables, it was 6 pm on a Tuesday! The place soon filled right up, but not before we were treated to some attentive service, including the head chef and owner himself!

We chose the $125 5-course share meal, and every dish was an absolute treat! We enjoyed delicate zucchini flowers, perfect olives, incredible seafood linguine, deliciously crispy barramundi and the most beautifully cooked duck breast!
Service slowed a little as the restaurant filled to capacity, but not to the point of being painful.

Overall a brilliant dining experience, great value for amazing quality food! Recommend it to anyone.

I went with a friend on a Sunday night and we choose to have the special choosing three main courses and a glass of wine or beer included for $22 dollar, and we ended paying $85 dollars. At the end we finish paying every plate and wine separated. To tell you the true we felt robbed.

Service was very poor, shockingly rude. It completely spoiled me and my partner's anniversary. The antipasto was quite bad, half of what was promised on the menu wasn't actually there! I also doubt the so called "pecorino" cheese was actually genuine pecorino, looked and tasted more like home-brand ricotta to me.

They managed to make the scotch filled I ordered tough as a cut of cheap steak, even though the sides were good. Having said that, I ate plenty of pub meals that were way tastier and half the price. My partner's ravioli were average, and the portion minuscule.

This place serves "italian food" that may deceive someone that doesn't know any better, but if you have been to Italy (or are italian, like myself) you'd know you are being fooled. To complete this disgraceful experience, after the 'dinner' we were talking to the manager about the poor customer service and food and he - I am not joking - walked off half-way through the conversation to go and hang around another table for 5 minutes.

Never experienced anything so disrespectful at a restaurant. When he eventually came back (after sending a poor waiter to try and get rid of us), he tried to get rid of us by giving a 6$ discount, showing his idiocy by completely missing the point of the complaint.

In a nutshell: this place is utter crap. The only good thing it could do is to go bankrupt and go back to the oblivion where it belongs. Don't waste your money there, there are plenty of nice restaurants in the area.
