Weeknight function sit down dinner with a set menu and I was impressed. Stuffed zucchini flowers were excellent as an entree. It was a fish main which was good but the alternative was a duck leg which looked better. I was too full for desserts but they were very generous, a pavlova and a gelati, pity I couldn't fit it all in. We also had complementary salads which were good. I'd recommend them for a function and would probably go again on my own. Address is Elizabeth street but you can access from Castlereagh just past Martin Place.

Attended a group dinner here on a weeknight, pretty good overall. The wine list and expensive-bottles-behind-glass-and-wood paneled decor were the stand-outs. Pre-dinner Pimm's cocktail was one of the best ever, served with all the garnishes. My chicken dish was slightly dry but seafood entree was excellent. Good cheese platter.

The chicken burger cost $16.50, but I've had better burgers at Hungry Jacks. The "avocado" turned out be a thin smear of oddly green coloured spread. I was told this was guacamole, but any resemblance to real guacamole was absent. There were also two miniscule slices of tomato and a lot of lettuce, possible to make up for the lack of anything else on the burger. The chicken was slightly burned. The chips were over-cooked in old oil. My colleagues chicken parmigiana special was at least cheap, which almost made up for the fact that it was inedible.

Another after work restaurant, went with the work girls and I must say we were glad there was a bar, because the food is very average. Good vibe on a friday, shocking service just too busy I think. We still had a great time.

Work paid for this one so not sure what the value is like but the setting is nice with the large wine collection visible and natural light filtering through. Food is pleasant, I had the prawn and avocado entree and risotto.

We've never tried Verandah Bistro of an evening or the bar, so can't attest as to the "mole/bimbo" factor that other people seem to have mentioned of an evening, but as a city lunch place this joint is a treat! The fitout is warm, city slick and stylish all at the same time. We were so impressed with this place I've recommended it to many people.

We've tried the seafood tasting plate, parfait, salt and pepper squid, kingfish, salmon and blue eyed cod, all were a refreshing zesty change from most of the drab and usual city fare. Combine this with a wine list that has a stack by the glass this place is really a cracker. The bill also came in quite respectably. Try an affagato for dessert ! Delish !

Great place to start a night on the city with dinner and drinks. The confit salmon was way above par for a bar menu and the more simple T-bone steak was perfectly cooked with good aoli and yummy. The drinks are good and the atmosphere isn't too pretentious.

Amazing cocktails! - try the tiger lily (absolutely mandarin, fresh lycee & passionfruit - yum!), excellent value for money especially during happy hours. I agree that the ventilation could be better as I reeked of smoke once I'd left. Service was great and staff very keen to ensure the cocktail mix is just right.

It's very crowded on the dance floor...drinks take ages and service is slow as...chicks r all moles...music sucks...very badly ventilated so there is a strong smell of smoke that stays on you after...Definitely won't go back! The Greenwood Hotle is much better.
