We were searching for a Italian restaurant on the Northern Beaches for the five of us. Luckily enough, we decided to try this restaurant. While it didn't look that full, which is not a great sign considering it was on a Saturday night, I have to say it was probably the best service and finest Italian food we have tasted.
Being vegetarian we are normally resigned to a stock standard pasta or risotto. However, I must say we really got a preview to how good a pasta can taste and the variety that can be on offer. The pastas exuded freshness and felt very authentic and absolutely divine. The desserts were interesting also and the chef / restaurateur was the perfect host. So if you are looking for a great night with amazing food and great service, this place is highly recommended. Happy to say we will be back!

This trattoria does the most experimental and inventive Italian food in Sydney and it tastes great too! Even though at first some of the flavour combinations sound a bit unconventional (chocolate ravioli, beetroot gnocchi and spinach icecream) somehow it all works and will give you a meal to remember. All the pastas are handmade with care and it really comes through in the textures. A lovely restaurant, even though it's a bit out of the way in the Northern suburbs.

What an amazing place. The love and dedication the chef/owners puts in the restaurant shows every step of the way. How else could there be a new menu every day? Here, everything that comes in your plate is home made, down to the balsamic vinegar and the flour (what other restaurant grinds their flour in Sydney?). Thank you for an authentic Italian food experience, the most authentic I have ever tasted. Many restaurateurs should come and dine here to learn about what service and gastronomy should really look like.

My friends & I went to this restaurant last night & based on the reviews from this website, we were expecting the service & foods to be line in line with each other. we started off by reading the menu which was on a blackboard & very hard to read, the menu also was confusing. Once we had placed our orders, it took 40 mins for a bottle of water to arrive at our table & 50mins for my main meal to arrive (considering our table had not ordered any starters, it was amazing how long a ravioli dish can take to prepare). The waitresses were rude, & could not understand what was being asked off them. After the meal was over, we asked for the bill & meals which were not provided to us were written on the bill provided which was amended once asked.
Shocking Experience... & the rating above is quite misleading!

Took a friend for her 40th birthday and all agreed it was the bet Italian we've had in Sydney! Vinnie is a great host, he came to our table to chat and ask what we liked/didn't like then recommended dishes accordingly.
Plenty of veggie options, I had the mushroom tagliatelle which was to die for! The beef ragu and gnocchi were also really tasty. The service was great, not too intrusive with dishes coming out at precisely the point where you were thinking that you were ready for the next course.
We were too full for dessert, but Vinnie let us sample the spinach ice cream. An odd but not unpleasant experience!
It's a bit more expensive than other Italian restaurants in the area but with good reason, all the dishes are home-made, including the pasta and the menu changes on a daily basis so everything is as fresh as it could be.
If you're looking for a place to go for a special occasion, you won't regret it.

After driving past this restaurant so many times I finally made a booking to check it out.
I was so so impressed. There is a lovely daily menu based on what is seasonal (how we should all cook) and all the pasta is made fresh. We shared a mixed bruschetta to start which was served on home made italian bread, sensational.
We both had a pasta, gnocchi with burnt butter sage sauce and spinach and ricotta ravioli with burnt butter sage sauce. It was so so good, just like what I ate in Italy, good quality produce with simple fresh flavours. Most of the staff are Italian and the chef came out for a chat which we loved. I highly recommend it, we will definitely be back!

Our first and last visit to this restaurant. The owner actively asks for reviews, so here is ours. The food is fantastic and some of the best Italian we have eaten. However, the whole experience was a disaster. We booked ahead, mentioning it was my wife's birthday, and that she was also gluten intolerant. Vinicio requested that we also inform the waitstaff on our arrival which we duly did. My wife requested the gnocchi and we confirmed they were entirely gluten free.
When the chef came to the table after dinner, he was shocked to discover it was meant to be gluten free, as her dish was cooked with mine, which was normal gluten containing pasta. A series of half hearted apologies followed, including a strange vegetarian allergy story from Vinnie himself, which I suppose was meant to appease us. The gluten free requirement was not passed on from the waitress to the kitchen. After this debacle, we requested 3 flavours of gelato, but only received 2.
Poor form, from a restaurant that widely advertises its gluten free choices. And no attempt on the bill for a final apology or discount. Eating gluten free in Italy was easier than at this trattoria.
