Shocking lunch at Tra Mi Restaurant this afternoon. (17/3/12). Took 2 overseas guest there for lunch, both ordered chicken pho. There were no meat in both the bowls of pho, what chicken pieces are there is wing tips, knuckle of bony chicken, pieces of neck and ribs of the chicken.

Absolutely embrrassing, they even asked is this how Australian Vietnamese cuisine are being served. How shameful for such a representation at Marrickville. When I went to pay for the meals, told the girl at the cashier about our disappointment, she ask me "Do I prefer to have the chicken meat?" One thing for sure, this is going to be the one and only time I will come and by the way the window sign that said Tra Mi "The top 5 restaurant", god help us with the rest.

Great service, the staff are friendly. It's a nice place with a great ambience. But it's way too expensive for what it is. There is better Vietnamese in Marrickville further down the road. I went with a friend, and we had two dishes - no drinks, and a bucket of boiled rice - and it was $37. It wasn't amazing - but filled the whole. The cliental were all White Australians, and there were no Vietnamese people eating, which is a sign that the foods is over priced and not authentic!

Got 2 take away and the wait was rather long, especially since we went during a quiet afternoon. Got a rice noodle dish and, unfortunately, half of the sauce contents spilt in the car. It was a mistake to assume the lids are closed in all four corners. This meant the dish was really bland. The rice noodle also comes fried with egg pieces which is a plus for me.

The other dish we got was rice with grilled pork chops and it was ok. I have tasted better Vietnamese in other Marrickville restaurants though.

We live in Bankstown, lots of Vietnamese. Same dish $2.50 cheaper on average.
Beef rice noodle appalling, wrong noodle, non existent flavour, big pile of stodge! When paying saw kitchen staff smoking a cigarette in the kitchen. My value rating reflects the smoking and disappointing quality.

Great Vietnamese fare at decent prices (we ordered 4 dishes and were satisfied at $10 per person). The pork vermicelli dish was fantastic while my friends adored the the spring roll vermicelli. Fried rice was also delish (if only there were more Chinese sausage bits in it). Would return again, although service is a little erratic, eg. teapot disappeared when we asked for a refill - needed some prompting to get it back. These are only minor gripes, however!

The food tastes great! The service is very friendly and they have a range of dishes that no other vietnamese restaurants offers. I'd come back again for sure.
