The Balcony is this places saving grace. If you want pub food then there are plenty of better options locally.

My wife and I celebrated our 30th birthdays together. We invited our friends and were given a great room. The food and service was great and the bar staff were very accommodating. Would highly recommend this place.

How can you burn a burger pattie - come on fellas it's a pub meal - atmosphere, music and drinks were good but the pub food at the bar could have been more carefully prepared and delivered.

I must agree with all previous reviewers, great balcony, great food, great drinks, great company, great times!!! The food was delicious and very well presented. The calamari and chips with homemade tartar sauce is a top dish. The calamari is so incredibly soft (no stringy elastic bits that flick back and tear your lip). The lamb skewer with pita bread and tzatziki is heaven, its covered in this beautiful hot spice and the tzatziki complements it well.
I was very impressed with the barman, although we had buzzers to let us know when the food was ready, he delivered the food straight to our table and it wasn't just to us, the balcony was full of waiting customers and he would bring the food out to them. This to me is superb customer service, especially since we weren't expecting it. Highly recommend on a wonderful warm sunny day !!!

A friend of mine had a party upstairs in the function rooms and it was great, staff went out of their way to help us out and the dj was hot. Highly recommend this place.

I have been a regular of the Town Hall for years. Last night I went there to celebrate my birthday on Anzac Day. It only takes one person to spoil a reputation! I ordered a drink from a young man and to my disbelieve he said "I have few things to do. I'll be back". My mate and I watched him do nothing but talk to other workers. He finally came back to serve us, and spilled my drink whilst he was talking to his mates. They have lost me for good.

The town was a fantastic pub/bar a few years back- always a good vibe, lots of ambience. These days I find it sterile, bland and a bit tatty downstairs. Shame really, as it has a great history and unrivalled location.

Their grills are a must. Every sunday we hang out and have a great lunch whilst having fun with friends. Best spot in Balmain.
