This place is a bit like a food court place rather than a restaurant. The food is very authentic and the price is reasonable. A very popular place to grab lunch as evident by the long queues.

I recently went there to eat I found it no different to the previous owners, on the previous post of yumcha fan your just being biased. Its not all about you “customizing your order” people make mistakes but especially when they are so busy behind the kitchen they cannot remember everything at once. I personally think the place is just as good and the service is great, I never had any issues with my orders. I guess I am not picky and need it customized.

I kind of agree with yumchafan. I use to come here at least once a week. I didn't realise that the original management sold the business until I read the recent reviews. I did notice that the staff started wearing uniforms and the faces behind the counter have all changed.
The laksa is still ok but there something is missing since the shop changed hands. The satay chicken skewers with rice was one dish that I ordered regularly in the past, not anymore. The last time I had it, the rice was undercooked (congee like), chicken was cold and the peanut sauce was....disappointing.
Can't really complain though since the dishes there are still relatively cheap for lunch but these days I go to To's maybe once a month (avoiding the satay chicken skewers) instead on a weekly basis.

It's really sad that the original To’s family recently sold the business. I used to go there practically every week when I lived in the area, and then when I moved I still went there every month. I loved the prawn mee (it tasted just like the ones form my childhood in Penang!) but I found that when they changed management the soup is more watery.
Also I used to love the curries but now the taste has changed for the worse too. Irene was so lovely and she always used to remember my customised noodle order and it was so very sad to say goodbye. I guess I’ll now just have to travel back to Malaysia to satisfy my prawn mee and laksa cravings! (oh - and the new servers got my order wrong!)

I just had to venture to North Sydney and try the famed laksas and other Malaysian treats and I wasn't disappointed. As others have said, it's busy and noisy and reminds you of the wonderful lunch-time food places in KL ... and the food is just as good.
I opted for Laksa of course and yes, it's up there with the best (in my opinion). Not quite as good as the Laksa from the Phnom Phen Noodle House downstairs in the Dixon Food Hall but pretty close. The owner Alby stopped by to chat and recommended other signature dishes which I'll be back to try another time.
Definitely worth a visit if you are into Malaysian food.

There's a reason behind the 20 minutes long lunchtime queue at To's. And that's the lovely laksas that come pouring out of the kitchen at breakneck speed. The prawns are crunchy and fresh and the scoop of sambal on top is a fiery inferno of flavour and heat. I think the other food looks decent, but I have to admit its going to be Laksa everytime from To's.

I can't comment on too many of the meals here since I've been coming here for 10 years and only tried three. Such is the quality and addictive nature of the Har Mee (Prawn Mee), a spicy clear prawn-based soup originating from Penang (I think). The optional chilli paste/sambal is essential in my opinion. The King Prawn Laksa is also very good. The Assam Laksa is available on weekends and is an interesting combination of strong flavours, fish, mint and fresh pineapple. A dark fishy sauce (belachan) is added and is an acquired taste but it works well with the other strong flavours.

This is a great place to eat and run. Surroundings are ordinary but the food is above average and the staff willing to please. Must be good as very high percentage of Asian patrons. Great for a quick lunch.

I've been a laksa fan for over ten years, having had my first at To's. I have since been in search of a better laksa in Australia, and I've so far been unsuccessful. A couple have come close, but To's has undoubtedly, the best chicken and prawn laksa I've ever had! Go for the extra chilli. Yum!

A bit disappointing as I think the quality of the food has degenerated quite substantially. We've been going there for years & recently after a break we went back for Saturday lunch. Food is no longer as attractive, they need to lift their game. For the quality, its quite expensive.
