Casual dining place where one can choose from a sushi train affair or a table. We chose the second option and found both Korean and Japanese dishes are on offer. We had Korean Bibimbap (hot beef version) served with red pepper paste on the side. So if you think it is too spicy, this one you control the action. This was yummy.
Also to reminisce we had an Okonomiyaki which was visually interesting since the benito flakes on top reminded me of a scary movie, they come seemingly 'alive'!. This is one to surprise the kids with! It also tasted scrumptious. With a drop of plum wine and a beer, it was a nice experience. Pleasant service too.

We went for dinner here with some friends and thought this place looked good, but am always wary of Shopping centre japanese food. I should have trusted my instincts. I had the sizzling seafood bbq, and fell ill later that night when I got home. Do not go here, it's not safe. Go up to ikea and get a $1 hotdog as a safer option.

I never feel satisfied after coming to these sushi train style places. Food is decent but I always find its not value for money. This place is no different. Friendly staff and a nice place to eat before going to the movies.

I came here to get a quick lunch before heading into the Ikea store with my partner. Service was good, however, the food was average and a little bit pricey for what you get. Since it was lunchtime, we ordered food from both the lunchtime special menu and also got a few things from the sushi train as well. Since I've been to the Tomodachi store in Broadway as well, I can say that the quality of the sushi here isn't any better: its 'good' but I could tell that the food has gone around the conveyer belt for some time before something was taken from it. We were lucky to grab a few dishes that were prepared fresh from the sushi train.
Tomodachi is a nice place to go to if you need a quick lunch. The quality of the food isn't 'great' but try go there during their lunchtime special to get a good value in your meal.

I just went there for lunch with my family and let me say that I will never go back. I use to go to Tomodachi 3 years ago when I lived in the area and used to love the place but things sure have changed. First off we were given the menus and when we opened them each page had bits of food on them. How hard is it to print out new clean menus. I then asked about the lunch specials that were advertised out the front of the store only to be told that they only apply Monday to Friday even though it was Saturday. Still I thought since the food use to be great last time I would order a few different meals. Without going into a long list of what was wrong with the meals let me say that most of the meals were hardly touched. I know I am sounding like one of those people that complain all the time but after such a poor and disgusting meal I need to warn other to save their money and try else where. Ok one example of the food and then I will stop writing. My wife ordered the teriyaki beef, what we got was cold beef covered in a glue and jelly like sauce with no flavour. It was worse then reheated 2 day old takeaway.

We went in around 8pm for a quick bite and a beer after a long day of errands and chores. We got a table pretty quickly but were told (by the lady that looked like the manager for the night) to eat "quick, quick". We assumed they were closing at 8.30pm but the other staff later told us the closing time was 9pm..We did rush through our beer and meal and we rudely interrupted at 8.40 to pay our bill and also told to hurry up and finish our meals! Pretty bad service and I'm surely not going back!

Not sure why we gave this place a second chance - late night hunger does strange things to you sometimes. The first time I recall being very underwhelmed by the food, a bland and overpriced udon soup that took far too long to come out. The second time? We never even got to the food. After waiting almost an hour we realised we were most probably forgotten and walked out. This was 15 minutes after having a second waiter ask us if we were OK, which we obviously weren't as we hadn't even received our drinks. I got the impression that the wait staff dash around madly in some sort of attempt to look occupied, doing their best to avoid customers and eye contact while mindlessly readjusting the chopsticks on the tables. In my humble opinion, anyone who finds this place impressive really needs to visit any of the Japanese restaurants in Haymarket/Ultimo and perhaps re-evaluate their score.

Great food, fresh and always consistent. Service is bad. No organisation at all. Well priced.

I don't agree with the average score. This place is one of my favourite japanese sushi train etc style of eating. I guess I haven't eaten anything better.
Their foods are better than most places I have been to. I like eating their cooked meals over their sushi train. I've had a few rare bad moments, but at least I know I've gotten my moneys worth when eating hear. I like the egg omelette and the bimbab.
Would I come back? yes, when I run out of ideas of what to eat.

I only came here for the bento/movie deal which makes it good value. The bento box though was a little below standard, the sushi wasn't as nice as it should be. The food didn't take that long to come out and there is a outdoor area also. Have yet to try their sushi train.
