These guys are the bomb when it comes to Mexican. Ask for Bill the owner. His jokes are corny but it is great service. The food is fresh and there are a tonne of options. I love their range of Mexican beers and Tequilas. We will be back that is for sure.
Great food and atmosphere. Loved the friendly service. Bill the owner went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. The selection of beers and tequilas were impressive. The burritos and tacos were fantastic and fresh. Outstanding playlist for the music! We'll be back- a lot!
Really had a great time. Here for a contract from the states. Really dug a taste of real Mexican. Fun joint great music old R&B (the real stuff). The people were freindly and the food was super good. Hot meant Hot too.
Tomatillo used to be my favourite place for a quick and easy dinner (I live in Potts Point). However, the last week or so have seen some devastating changes: the usual manager seems to have gone; the food has gone from significantly better to inedible; and the services has gone from excellent to awful.
By way of background, I live in Potts Point and have eaten here (in fact, had takeaway from here) just about weekly since they opened. The food has always been excellent, and the service a pleasure. Tomatillo's food and service kept me faithful. However, over the last week or so, something seems to have happened. The service is now appalling, the food (when you want hot chilli sauce) has gone from very hot but still tasty to completely inedible.
I don't know where the friendly chap with the moustache has gone, or what has happened to the manager.
Went there last night on the recommendations here and most of them are pretty much spot on. The food is not the Old El Paso everyone else seems to serve up, the prices are decent, the staff were adequate and got our orders right so I was happy with that.
I had a burrito and a quesadilla and though the quesadilla was pretty light on fillings, the burrito was massive bigger that any kebab you can get around Sydney these days so yes the food was good value for money!
The only thing I really didn't like about this place was that it is located in Kings Cross but that can't be helped at this late stage. I will be going back in a few weeks for sure.
Cheap and nasty Mexican - the equivalent of a late night kebab. Very greasy and sloppy burrito that I lived to regret. Venue is basically a takeaway but with some seating available (a la McDonalds).
Reading the other reviews I decided to stop by for dinner before heading elsewhere in the city. Now, reading the other reviews, I'm unsure I went to the same place everyone else is talking about. Same name, same location but nothing there to warrant the posts I've read!
It's basic, seriously basic. This isn't somewhere you'd plan to go, it's more a location you duck into if you are out somewhere. Very safe dining for people who can't handle spice or strong flavours, it's just not that sort of place.
