Parking Suggestions
Better parking in Eastgate shopping centre or Westfeild Shooping centre. We do not suggest parking on Spring street.
Reminds you Jazz cafe in Tokyo. Little underground feeling.
All food oil-free! Healthy and Tasty.
Japanese light foods such as rice balls, hot dog, soup, Sashimi plate, Teriyaki fish, Japanese sweets and Japanese beer with jazz/ world music /live music.

The Jazz here is excellent. The restaurant is a tiny little place. Service is warm and friendly. The food we tried was average. Not a big fan of the green tea pannacotta. The Japanese lemonade was a fun drink to try. Overall we liked the Jazz more than the food but would stop by again on a Jazz night!
Response from Management:
Thank you for giving us your review and glad you've liked jazz night.
Foods are very very Japanese home dinner style and our 40% of customers are Japanese people, maybe you'd prefar western style of Japanese food which I may have to consider as new menu in future.
Again, thank you for your comment.

Beautiful food especially the vegetable udon, teriyaki chicken rice and japanese pancake with seafood. The owner/chef is extremely friendly! Food is very healthy! A must try when you are off to bondi! Thumbs up!

What a fantastic place. Sunken below the footpath with a jazz bar feel - I've seen this sort of thing in Tokyo. The chef and staff are mostly Japanese and many of the customers always a good sign. I'd describe the food as Tokyo izakaiya style but no fried food. Sashimi, teriyaki chicken, fish and wagyu beef and a delicious original version of okinomiyaki. They have a great selection of sake as well. Love it.

A little hidden gem in the backstreets of Bondi Junction, I love going to this place! A respite from the noisy streets during the day for lunch or an afternoon tea, and lively at night with a great range of drinks. The food is great too! I recently tried their vegetarian quiche which was absolutely delicious! It turns out it's vegan friendly, but even as an avid meat-eater, I loved it.
Being underground, it is a little hidden from view, but once I found this place, I have continuously returned. A wonderfully friendly and atmospheric that has become a regular hang out for my friends and I.

I love coming back here for their Saturday night Live Jazz! Atmosphere is reminiscent of old style underground jazz places! cosy and intimate. Most enjoyable gig so far is the one with Peter Anson and Chris Ross.
The food is different to mainstream japanese places. More healthy too. The sashimi platter is good value. The chef's take on Okonomiyaki looks different to what I've had before but still delicious! The tofu is silken and melts in your mouth. The green tea pannacotta with red bean and cream is my favourite dessert. Fantastic that it's made with soy milk too (for those lactose intolerant)! the only item so far that wasn't so great is the takoyaki. Too soft and not crunchy on the outside like it's supposed to be.
Drinks: I love being able to order a soy mocha or coffee, then a French softdrink, followed by sake or plum wine. All up to standard! Finally, Yoriko the chef and owner is welcoming and always up for a chat! This is definitely a regular spot for me!

TJC is the key ingredient to the culinary experience in Bondi Junction. The menu is delicately crafted by Yoriko, the ever Lovable Chef. The aim is Yummy + Tasty yet Light + Healthy. Yoriko uses only top quality produce. The Okonomiyaki, Wagyu Beef Curry, Chicken Teriyaki Don, are all heavenly delicious and leave you wanting for more. Oh yeah, the home-made cheese cake is a must for your dessert.

Food needs a lot of work, but what you don't get in food you get with a friendly, fun service and incredible hard to find alcohol at reasonable prices. Live music is awesome, but in general is a great place to bring a date or a few friend to have a drink and chill out.
Update: The food is nice, seems home made and probably lacks the ever present Msg. But for the price it's not up to par with other Japanese places like Ichi Ban Boshi (maybe before it moved to the mall).
It's just my opinion tho, if Japanese people like it maybe I just have a western taste for Japanese food. I changed the stars around a bit tho and added some to food because I honestly didn't think it was bad, just not something I would order in a restaurant for the money, as I remember since it was a long time ago.
Response from Management:
Hi there,
Thank you for giving us your review, we appreciate your concern.
Just would like to ensure what food you tried at our cafe? Now we have a sake tasting promotion cusomters come to our cafe and this deal comes with a little snack such as Edamame, mini tofu salad. Was this case you?
Also, I've never use any oil in my food hence it's so different from any other cafe/restaurant but it's very healthy. It is very difficult to cook any food without using oil, but I did it. However, I am happy to listen your feedback about my food needs to be improved.
People are coming back for my food even many many Japanese are coming back for my food. Some of Japanese are coming every night to have dinner...So I'd appreciate that if you could advise me what was wrong with my food. It's not fair just giving us food rating 1 out of 10 without what you've had.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Yoriko Miyazaki
