Pleasant decor, has a great outdoor area perfect for daytime and even cosy blanquettes upstairs to lounge on and have a few drinks.

The food was somewhat of a hit and miss, value is reasonable, not quite authentic japanese but to be fair I don't think it aims to be as this is more fusion japanese with a twist. Sake sampler was great and at $16 was good value. We started off with the salmon carpaccio which was delicate thin slices of salmon but, unfortunately, overpowered by a lemon mayonnaise type sauce.

We then had the wagyu beef salad which was nice and had a parmesan infused dressing, the agedashi tofu was good but didn't stand out, then we had the chef entree sampler which had 3 small samplers of their mains, wasn't particularly memorable, however, their crispy pork belly was beautiful though with all the different sauces on the side was probably unnecessary, this place is relatively new so there are definite improvements to be made but I'll be back, if it isn't just to try their tempura mars bars.

I visited on Tuesday night and found a parking spot right outside. It was a good omen. It was busy, but there were tables still available. I found it a refreshing change from our local (and predictable) Japanese restaurant. The salmon carpaccio was presented in a tangy mustard dressing and peppercorns. A good start. Our other 3 dishes were the cabbage dish, which was very nice (but big enough to share among six people), the crispy pork belly, which was also very good and coriander and chicken rolls, more recognisably Japanese.

Next time we'll try the kingfish jalapeno. We would have tried the duck confit, but it was significantly dearer than most other dishes, perhaps, next time too. Wine $8-10 a glass. Nice open environment. Polite and helpful service. We'll bring friends next time.

We dined here on a very rainy sat night and it was fairly empty which worried us but that ended up being no reflection on our experience.

The food was fabulous, the kingfish with jalapeno puree a surprise taste sensation and the crispy pork to die for. Tempura was light and crispy too. They have a large selection of sake too and the staff were very helpful to sake 'virgins' like us in suggesting ones to start with, we really enjoyed it with the meal.

There was a lovely acoustic guitarist playing beatles covers too, his voice was beautiful and made the atmosphere so enjoyable. They have a gorgeous back garden area which sadly in the rain wasn't being used but we'd love to go back on a nice sunny day and have lunch there.

Toku Toku offers Japanese cuisine with a modern twist, served in a tapas style. They also have an extensive sake menu.

The food is amazing, and most importantly, it's consistent. I have eaten here a number of times, with different groups of people, and every time the food is equally as good. Some highlights are the Duck Confit, the Oven Roasted Cabbage (far better than it sounds!), Rainbow Roll, and the Prawn and Baked Eggplant.

One of the best things about this place is that the menu is so extensive and varied. It's not sushi heavy for those who don't eat it, but for those who do, the Sushi choices are light, fresh and tasty.

Highly recommended, particularly if you are looking for somewhere to take a large group.

We discovered Toku Toku by chance. With an outdoor garden and a Japanese design interior, our taste buds were treated to modern Japanese flavours served in Tapas style. The Wagu beef cheek curry is Outstanding!

Sensational from start to finsh. The courtyard at the back is just as cosy as the inside area. The kingfish with jalapeno was truly outstanding, delicate and yet so powerful. The chicken roll with wasabi mayo chilli and coriander was equally good and the green tea brulee was the ideal way to finish off an extraordinary meal. Fantastic experience overall, and I will be back very soon!

Wow! This is my new favourite Japanese. Outstanding.

The food was amazing. Seriously tasty and different from other Japanese restaurants. It’s very hard to pick a favourite from what we ordered: Kingfish Carpaccio, chicken and coriander rolls (WOW), rainbow rolls, Crispy Pork Belly, Toko Toko Chicken, tempura Mars Bar and the sweet potato chips with honey and sesame seeds.

They were all such taste sensations, so fresh and different. A party of flavours! The building is beautiful and they have a wood fire. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Book and go! I really don’t want this restaurant to die the Glebe pt road death.

My prediction is that this establishment is going to rock! The building is stunning. The decor is stylish, warm and inviting. The menu innovative and interesting. And the wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable.

The food was truly spectacular. My partner and I both had sashimi entrees and both were 10 out of 10. The crisp pork belly was perfect and the beef cheeks soft as butter and so delicious. I don't normally do dessert but such a good meal deserved to be capped off. Lovers of sake will be fascinated by the selection and the courtyard will be the cool summer venue in Glebe. Top marks and very highly recommended.

Very overpriced for very ordinary food. The service bordered on the unpleasant to the invasive. Great gourmet dishes can be had elsewhere without the hassle
    never again.

Absolutely divine! We were just in Glebe and went in not knowing and having heard the place before. Teriaki chicken was the best I've ever had, and the wasabi maynonese was to die for. It's my new favourite Japanese :)
