Brekkie mecca in Surry hills. great staff, great grub, never had a dud feed here. Sshhh best kept secret or i wont get a seat.

This place is truly wonderful. A little oasis of proper food in amongst the cliched focaccia and caesar salad's of all the other cafe's in Surry Hills.

I love the corrugated iron and the look of the place. But most importantly, the food is fantastic! Everytime I go there the menu impresses me . I particularly enjoyed the steak sandwich with onion marmalade. To die for!

I've got to tell everyone that the food here is 'The Biz'. We live just across the road and go there heaps. Every other cafe in the area seems like a disappointment after eating here. The portions are brilliant. The presentation is also great. I recommend the French toast with fruit, the big breakfast, also the scrambled eggs with smoked trout... brilliant! Also check out the inventive selections for lunch like chick pea and preserved lemon soup and lamb shank rissotto. Shhhhh... keep it quiet or everyone will go there!!

A great tucked away spot for breakfast. As far as brekkie food goes this place is fantastic (as you would expect in the "hills"). Of note are the poached eggs bruschetta (with tomato and onion) which is sublime. Huge portions as well, so theres plenty to share. It can get a little crowded at times as it is quite small, and the service can sometimes be slow, but the food more than makes up for any downsides.

My hairdresser told me about this place about a year ago and I have been there every Saturday for brunch since. The food is amazing and I recommend the bruschetta with poached eggs - delicious and a great start to the day. The service is also excellent and it has a relaxing atmosphere which is perfect for a Saturday morning. My only sadness about Toast is it isn't open on Sundays!!!

The food portion is quite large, perfect for brunch or sharing, and they are very good! We could have shared the scrambled eggs & trout with hollandaise sauce on toasted turkish bread. The banana bread is just right, but again, you can take away half of it. Service is casual and friendly. Very good value for money! We're definitely going back there.
