I used to love going to this café, friendly service, tasty food and good coffee. The last time I went there, the service was slow and "uninterested", and the coffee luke warm and a bit lacklustre. Where has all the usual staff gone?

Went there a couple of times for lunch, the food was quite average. I had a soup last time I went and half the container was filled with black eye beans which I'm not a great fan of, but the selection was rather limited. A particular waitress wasn't too friendly so will not be back purely for that reason.

As a regular, I've got to compliment Toast on their consistency. Coffee's always great and the service super friendly. I love being able to afford the time to dine in for breakfast or lunch, and take particular delight when they have something unusual on the specials menu, always worth a try, and the integrity of the produce is a given (for me at least!).

Great place with some original breakfast fare. Had the Mexican breakfast which I have not seen around at other places and found it to be fantastic. Will definitely be back.

I thought I had reviewed Toast previously but it seems not. I am a big fan normally however today's experience soured things a little.

I love their Eggs Benedict, and their Moroccan and Mexican breakfasts are great plus a little different. The service is usually spot on with really friendly and attentive staff. Today we sat down and waited. 10 minutes went by so we went in. The barista was curt and dismissive telling me to go back to the table that someone would be out. They weren't so we left.

Toast I have been one of your biggest advocates. Please don't let this be the new you. I'll be back for one more try.

This is our stop off after visiting the city, great coffee, food always amazing and the staff so attentive and professional, top marks to the waiter with the trendy black rimmed glasses, if there was a contest for outstanding waiter he would win everytime. Well done Toast.

As good as city cafes get (ease back on the gf stuff though please). The salads are particularly inspired! Incongruous location.

This is a quirky and endearing place with a menu that ranges from the generic (wonderfully executed) to the daring, think starfruit, raspberry and white chocolate muffins or the Mexican breakfast, jalapeno peppers, coriander and scrambled eggs wrapped in a tortilla and served with avocado, sour cream and tomato salsa.

True, some of the more extreme dishes do not always work (I can’t quite bring myself to enjoy a marshmallow and peanut butter muffin, though I guess there is a market for that sort of thing), but it’s never a boring place to dine. It is a bit disappointing that there is no all-day breakfast but the lunch menu is varied enough to compensate and the salad compositions can be as original as the muffins, my personal favourite is the lamb with black sesame, mixed seeds, mushrooms and brown rice.

The staff are super friendly, though it can be a bit of an intimidating place for the non-regular (though that can be rectified in fairly short order). Overall, one of my favourite and consistently gratifying places but, for the love of god, change that music!

Did they change chef? Breakfast here used to be fantastic and their muffins were moist and delicious, today I had an horrible muffin, dry with walnuts that tasted old. My partner got a special with scrambled eggs and salmon, the salmon was cut in tiny pieces and was mixed with the eggs, really overpriced at $16.50. Such a pity, it used to be one of my favorite breakky spots.
