We had a corporate dinner in the Private Dining room. It was an excellent Venue for our Function as we were able to personalise our menu. The dishes were presented beautifully and were sumptuous to eat.
Had a wonderful dinner with a group of friends. We could not faulter the service, not loud and tables have enough room around them. We had the 2 signature dishes, the Flambe Wagyu and Barramundi also had the Pork Belly and Peppered Tuna which was all sumptuous.
We tried the new menu at this place, apparently first day yesterday. YUM YUM YUM I'm still licking my lips. Excellent presentation, not noisy and I don't have to sit on top of other guests like the hatted venues around Sydney. Forget the water views, this place has great food and overlooks Hyde Park believe it or not.
The service was of the highest standard, professional, polite and unobtrusive. Unfortunately, the meals were the opposite. I was so looking forward my wagyu rump, at $48 I expected it to be divine. What arrived was a small, bland piece of meat so unspectacular I cannot believe it was prime quality at all. I have had more tender scotch fillets from the supermarket.
Furthermore, the rump was accompanied by a small potato, some oily mushrooms, unseasoned watery spinach and half a cold tomato. A side order of "hand cut chips" were also bland, unseasoned and not even crisp in the least. Also, two barflys buzzed at our table constantly. I have never been so disappointed at a restaurant of this standard. I was so upset that I did not even want to stay for dessert. Not recommended.
If you love your steak this is definitely the place, actually my partner had the fish which was wonderful she said. A bit expensive hence the discerning clientele, but if you compare other similar places of similar standard, I guess the pricing is good. We had a wonderful Red recommended by our waitress and it did not break the bank. We were impressed.
Tried the 2 courses for $30. The mussels were nice but the potato tasted >1 day old, you know that taste when you eat potato cooked last night. Fish was nice and adequately portioned (not too much) and my friends enjoyed the chocolate fondant very much.
