Overview of Tiger Mottle

A relaxed cafe with excellent coffee, food and great music. Soak up the warmth in front of the fire whilst watching the vinyl spin on the turntable. The menu has lots of goodies to choose from including Bubble & Sqeak, a customer favorite, grilled sandwiches, and weekly specials such as sage mushrooms with wilted spinach, ricotta and parmesan on charred sourdough toast - $14.50. There's also great counter treats like our daily baked muffins and bacon & egg tarts. The coffee is made using The Golden Cobra beans, and uses the double ristretto technique to deliver a rich coffee.

Nice coffee but almost cold and I had asked for an extra hot one. Nice friendly service and a good little spot. Not sure if I will be back though. Self-professed coffee snob.

I've got to say I'm pretty impressed with this little cafe! I've been there lots of times for takeaway coffee and twice for brunch and I haven't been let down yet.
As mentioned in another review, takeaway coffee has been on the slow side a few times, but this morning I went there for a takeaway coffee when they weren't busy and they made my deliciously blended coffee almost instantaneously.

As for their menu, Tiger Mottle offer a breakfast/brunch selection and are great also if you're not wanting a big carb full meal, as the 'breakfast salad' is delicious and satisfying, with two perfectly poached eggs on a very full salad consisting of rocquete, avocado, tomato and some other goodies that I've forgotten. I just remembered feeling very satisfied and full afterwards.

I've also tried the 'Fancy Pants Bacon and Egg Roll' which is one of the best b&e rolls I've tried, although I could do with a side of more of that delicious aioli they put on it. I've tried their signature espresso also, called the 'Maple Mottle' which is an espresso with a dollop of cream, maple syrup and chilli powder - sounds kind of weird but you have to try before you judge it, cause I thought I'd hate it and I loved it!

My husband also had the 'South American' espresso which is an espresso shot with sweetend condensed milk, also delicious but not as good as the maple mottle! Mix the delicious menu, inventive espressos, friendly serve with great music and atmosphere of a Paddington terrace and I think I've found my new local favourite!

What a gem of a cafe. It is a revamped Paddo terrace with a cool jazz vibe and plenty of seating. Their coffees are great. The Maple Mottle must go on every coffee connoissuer's to-try list. I've never come across anything like it. Service is a bit on the slow side (probably because they get a bit busy) but very attentive, to the point of micro-managing. Food not bad either.

Dropped in with Lil Neecy and were lucky to get a table on cold and wet mid-morning sunday. We were enthused by the interesting breakfast menu (incl blackboard specials) instead, however, chose stock standard eggs with extras. Delicious! Two coffees each with a hearty breakfast plus extras about $20 ea - not bad value. The take-away egg and bacon tarts looked interesting, may stop by one day for one of them to go. Coffees are good although must say have had better elsewhere. Will return.

Such a great cafe, the food is excellent and coffee is the best around. The staff are friendly, and if you feel like a laugh, check out Movember (Mark and Pete) (don't forget to donate).

Tiger Mottle is taking it to the streets with top quality, great service and good prices. Their coffee is liquid gold with diamonds on top, the most wicked double risties this side of the hood. Their food is delicious and their decor is rad. Old school friendly service with genuine people who actually care, and show that in their product.

I've been going to Tiger Mottle since they opened. It's nice to find a cafe in Paddington without the attitude! The coffee is always of high standard and Peter can remember who has what and how they like it. Quite wonderful. The wait staff are always friendly, delivering the delicious food with a smile.

Finally a decent cafe in Paddington! This area has been lacking in this sort of quality for too long. I had the mushrooms on toast with wilted spinach and ricotta and it was delicious. As for the coffee - one of the best in Sydney! I would definitely recommend. Just get in as early as you can on weekends to avoid a wait. It's obviously very popular!
