Went there the other day for a quick lunch with a colleague. He had a seafood spaghetti which was passable, though there wasn't as much seafood as there probably should have been. I had the peking duck with jasmine rice. The duck was not peking, no peking sauce. Rather than being chopped it was just lumps of duck as dry as a doorstop. The rice was alright but the presentation was terrible and the salad was a couple of pieces of snow pea sprouts & two bits of raw cucumber.
Our bill came to $31 per head. Considering the quality of the food & that we waited 25 minutes for it, it was not worth it.
Service was fine from the waitstaff other than the time it took the food to come out. The pub on the other levels is great for quiet drinks, just don't expect anything spectacular from the food.
Quite a reasonable place for a quiet meal and drink. Staff are certainly friendly, and the food doesn't come too late. The whole place, however, is nothing to crow about.
Food was not spectacular but reasonably priced at around the $24 mark. Service was good with the waiter bringing jugs of water automatically and food was served promptly even with a large group.
I have not had a bad meal at the Forbes hotel (the restaurant up the stairs). I enjoyed the smoked salmon pasta and a nice glass of red wine. The service was not too bad at all. The food was of good value (not overly-priced like some restaurants nearby). Would recommend for a casual lunch with friends or colleagues.
