The food is quite good. Drinks are a bit overpriced for the low quality of the building and decor. Most of the staff are very nice and welcoming but from what I have experienced, the duty managers or owners have a "God" complex. Barking orders at staff and telling patrons what they can and can't do. Makes for hostility and when you are spending your hard earned money, its not the environment you want to come back to.

This was the worst meal I've eaten in a long time. I had the pot pie, very overcooked steak, very undercooked potato and soggy fries. My companions had the chicken curry, little chicken and little flavour.

I had to queue 10 minutes and was told that they have just stop taking dinner orders because they ran out of clean plates? I was told to return 30 minutes later but yet they still refuse to accept orders. It would have been better that they tell people that kitchen is closed for the night. Bad management and bad service but at least the beer is just cold.

Had the curry of the day with a mate. He commented that "it could barely be classifed as food". I agree whole-heartedly. It did not resemble a curry, more like a jar of sweet n sour Kanton with chillies thrown in. The trivia however is great!

Hubbie and I went to nephew's engagement party up-stairs in the function room.
Set in an old style Aussie pub, it was a great place for a party, (120) as there are plenty of low stools (cushioned poofs...sorry that's the only word I know for them) to sit on and a large balcony, that wraps around the hotel, for the smokers.
I can't comment on the prices, but the finger food was nice and the service was friendly and efficent. We all had a great night.

Very good food with drinks at pub prices. A good place for a casual mid week lunch or dinner. May not be a good choice on Friday or Saturday evening as they get very busy and service may struggle. Remember, it's a pub so don't expect fine dining, however, you certainly get what you pay for.

Fantastic service the steak was the best I have ever had! no joke and my wife had the best pork cutlet she had ever had. They have a great selection of imported scotch. There is also a great TAB area if you like a punt. Great venue!

Bar service including meal orders is very slow. Staff seem more interested in TAB sales at the other side of the bar. Menu stated that steak comes with chips and salad. Received mash and salad with no explanation or prior warning. $36.50 for Northern Rivers steak on the bone. Over priced and over rated for a local pub.

Food side of the Willoughby is always good, there's not much atmosphere but it's ok, bar service is reasonable, the pub isn't quite sure what it wants to be and the management is poor.

This is a pub I used to visit regularly around 3-4 years ago and was impressed by the offerings created from a very small kitchen. On a recent return visit the offerings were bland and unispiring. Certainly the meals are relatively inexpensive, but what's on offer (burgers, "fish and chips", etc.) can be found in many other eat and run places.
