What a great place, location plus really good food, simple, honest, organic and fresh. The service was quick, despite being full, clearly happy staff, with great live acoustic music, and that chef can sing! I mean really sing, she should be performing, honestly! This is my first review because no other cafe has made such an impression on me, seriously...go and see !

Nice to sit at a quiet cafe on the northern beaches where you can talk without that constant traffic noise. Where they serve great tasting and healthy food and then go for a walk or a swim at an amazing little bay, strangely called dolphin bay.

Wow this place has really changed! It's not actually called Whaleys any more it's called "The Olive & Rose" and it really rocks. Last time we checked this place out it was a sad run down little take away joint with two cranky women running it. Now there's a bunch of people in there, the whole vibe of the place is cool, it's really brilliant.

We went there to check it out after seeing an advertisement in the local paper. It's organic, totally eco - friendly and they have great food. Prices are reasonable for organic food, actually we were pretty surprised at how much so. We had eggs Benedict with leg ham (me) they were perfect on some yummy sourdough toast, and a "whaley" burger (tom) which was absolutely huge, delicious, beautifully presented with an olive and rose petal topped skewer to hold it together. The coffees we had were truly some of the best we have ever tasted. People all around us were actually talking about how good the coffee is!

There were a couple of great slide guitarists playing live and the staffs were cheerful and the chefs were actually singing in the kitchen. They certainly know how to create a great atmosphere. Anyway we are definitely going back for another helping. Be prepared to wait, the lines were long. There is no table service either, they give you a number and when your food is ready they come and find you. It's great to see such a legendary place brought back to life with great organic food.
