What a great place! I have been hearing about this place for years and finally managed to go over the weekend. It was just me and a mate but we hadn't made a booking on the saturday night. They were quick to make room for us but let us know nicely that we needed to be out by 8pm. Not an issue considering we got there at 6:30pm.

I cannot believe how cheap the food here is! a super cosy ambience, I found it a charming restaurant. We had the prawn, chicken momo and the aloo tikka for entree. All equally delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. We had the goat curry with rice and parathas. All the food is light, cooked with a delicious blend of mild spices and just so yummy! I would go back here again and again!

We had a lovely dinner here on Friday night. The whole place was buzzing and we were packed in like sardines, but somehow we managed to fit all our dishes on the table! The service was basic but friendly, and the food came out swiftly. Between four of us we shared three entrees, two mains, a salad and some accompaniments and we were all full. Unlike Indian food, the Nepalese cuisine appears to be less rich, so while we felt full there wasn't the sense of having over-eaten. The only drawback was that the place was incredibly noisy and at times we had to shout, but overall it was a lovely night and for $25 a head, who could complain?

Love this place! My friend and I walked in on a Friday night, got a cosy table for 2, had the dumplings and potato patties for entree, the delicious signature goat curry, rice, pappadums, raita and steamed greens. Was delicious. We were stuffed. And it was only $25 each! Food came out super fast and waitresses were really friendly. Why pay Toko or Pizza et Birra prices when this is across the road.

All bound for momo land! I'd not tried Nepalese before, but when invited to The Nepalese Kitchen to celebrate a birthday, I couldn't refuse. A colleague had described the cuisine as a cross between Indian and Chinese, but it was the temptation of dumplings which really sealed the deal for me!

My party were seated in the rear courtyard on an Autumn night, but gas heaters were provided so it wasn't too cold. Being a large group, we ordered the Banquet which consisted of a number of entrees and mains with condiments...no dessert included.

The beauty of the Banquet is that you can try a number of dishes from the menu, which the restaurant suggests you do, as it is the Nepalese way to share food (or so the menu states). You can also swap dishes in the menu to cater for vegetarians.

Sadly, the dumplings, or Momo, in the banquet were not vegetarian (although there is a choice of chicken or vegetarian on the menu) so I didn't partake. However, there were some really great dishes. An entree of tender meat (sorry not sure if it was lamb or goat) with shredded diakon and cripsy rice flakes was great.

So was the eggplant and potato curry and the dahl with beans was great too.
A barbecued meat, which I think was lamb was tasty, but a little chewy. The goat curry was also tasty, but the meat was too fatty for my liking. Since the desserts were not included our table purchased a few to try. The mango kulfi was delicious as was the caramel pudding.

So including desserts, for a banquet for approx 13 people we spent roughly $35 each, which was very reasonable. I would eat at The Nepalese Kitchen again, but next time I would maybe go with a smaller group so I could try different menu items. I would also recommend you book as it gets really crowded.

Food was really good, but the service was just Ok. We went to have dinner on a Saturday night and it was packed, therefore, it got very noisy, we had to almost yelled at each other to have a conversation. However, will definitely go again, the food is just irresistible.

The place was so packed. I made a booking and was sat next to the front door. Everyone coming and going out bumped either me or my chair. Even the poor waiters and waitresses (not their fault) had to dodge people which were in what we should call a corridor for service. When we were eating, our food was taken from out between us and it was explained on the way another table was available. Pity I hadn't finished my mouthful or taken my fork out of my mouth before the plate was taken out from under me with no explanation.

Food was ordinary and alot heavier than indigenous Nepalese food. Closer to Indian and the ingredients used did not fuse like the Cardimon pods in the rice. After all this and the dining experience, to be a decent person, we tipped. Silly us. Not recommended!

Stumbled on this place when our preferred choice was full on a busy saturday night. We were seated outside in a tiny courtyard where you could hear every other table's conversation. But the food was great (would recommend the goat curry) and the service excellent. They just need to pump a little music outside to create a bit more atmosphere. The inside looked cosy though, we will book ahead for our next visit.
