I've been 3 times now so I think I can make an informed opinion. I found the place consistently good.

The food is great and reasonably well priced. Owen the MD actually knows how to run a restaurant all delivers excellent service. My advise? Give it a go. You'll probably get a surprise.

Went there last week with some friends who received a flyer inviting them to try the new menu, and we all had a lovely time. The host was very welcoming and the food was very nice. And although there were only a handful of tables the courtyard was a lovely setting.

We shared zucchini flowers and home made ocean trout and the chefs focaccia was delicious. For mains my Salmon was cooked perfectly and hubby's steak with an oregano sauce made him very happy (thank god). The tiramisu was great. A little bit on the expensive side but overall a very nice dinner. Would certainly return.

Wow, what happened to this place, nothing apparently. Nothing for 5 years. It feels tired and boring and the food matched.

We went early midweek, as we had somewhere to be down the street later, so there was no ambience, but the manager/host, made us feel welcome and was attentive throughout.

But that's where the compliments stop. This place might hustle and bustle on a fri/sat night, but I think that hides the fact it has become so boring and tired that even when the waiter told me about the dishes, I couldn't help but get the feeling that he wasn't buying the spiel either.

Needs a freshen up, as this was, and could be, a great restaurant again. Go when its busy and take your own wine.

Great food the prawn and scallop pasta was a fantastic dish, every bites brings a beautiful flavor. I am a seafood pasta freak and have tried many restaurant but this I give 10 out of 10. If you love seafood pasta you ought to give this a try.

This place use to be awesome but now it is more like a scene out of Fawlty Towers. First off, they didn't have our booking. Then, when we finally got to ordering (after about 30 minutes of waiting) they had ran out of everything we had chosen. We thought never mind, there were some specials to replace the items missing on the menu. Then, we waited another 20 minutes to get anyone's attention then go to order for round 2, no, they had ran out of all the specials then.

For any Monty Python fans it was reminiscent of the 'Have you got any cheese' skit, we couldn't help but laugh. I settled for a main only in the end as that seemed to be all that was left. My main was Ok, but nothing special and the presentation was woeful. When it was time for dessert, they had run out of the torte of the day, actually, we found out it had never been made for the day. 5 of the 6 of us settled on the creme brulee, having eaten it regularly when the restaurant was owned by previous owners.

Well now they have decided to add a horrible almond essence and serve creme brulee that is not set, then finish it off by burning the toffee on all 5 on the top. It was so bad I had to send it back (which I never do), but I wonder how that made it out to the table in the first place. At least we weren't charged for dessert.

Sadly, my family and I who use to frequent the Mixing Pot will not be back, and my Dad will never pick this restaurant as a place to celebrate a birthday again.

I used to frequent the Mixing Pot constantly when owned by the original family. It was brilliant. The current establishment, (apart from one Italian waiter) have nothing in common with the original except the name and the menu. The food was very poor and it seems lots agree with me. On a Friday in a restaurant holding 85, there were 9 of us and they still messed up all 3 courses of the food. Our waiter was good fun however.

A busy Saturday night and a table for two in the courtyard. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The meals were great exactly as described and served quickly despite the crowd. The wine list is extensive and although a little pricey perfectly matches the meals. Overall a great night, just a shame about the dated decor.

I love this place and eat there regularly. I've never had a bad meal at the Mixing Pot and it's great value for money (helped by the BYO). I have introduced many friends to this place and they always go back.
