Went with my husband today, ordered 10$ steak and 18.5$ chicken and seafood laksa (special today). The Laksa is good. The steak is not that perfect but still very good. The service and ambience is perfect! We may try a second time.

Thought we would watch the rugby and eat out at same time so was very dubious at choosing the $10 rump steak special. Arrived in about 20 minutes and have to say, was the best rump steak I've ever eaten and thats saying something! I don't think you could do the same at home for the same price. Four of us had the steak special and we all thoroughly enjoyed the fare!

It was a great time in there. I had a $10 steak. I liked the stakes. However, I ordered the rare one. But I was served the medium one. But that was ok, because the food was fantastic. It's reasonable! The chips and salads which served with
the steak also was good! And the waitress was really friendly and service was so fast. I'd love to visit there as soon as possible. Next time, I will try the blue one.

Steak here is awesome and amazing value for money at just $10! Always a winner with me! I've also tried the paramingta chicken here too which again was very tasty though could have done with a bit more sauce!

I haven't really ventured to try out other items on the menu as its always good sticking to what you know will be good and you will really enjoy. I've eaten steak here probably around 10 times in the last 6 months perfect everytime!

I also noted the pizzas a couple had the other day looked extremely yummy and perhaps I'll give them a try sometime. Very good value for money.

If you want quick tasty food (you will normally receive your food within 10 mins) this is the place to go. All staff are normally very friendly too!

Great food for a pub but managment need to move the sports fanatics away from the dining area after they have finished eating. Tables on a big night of sport usually have patrons stay and watch the game leaving you with no-where to sit to have your meal. $10 steak great value for money.

There's not too much the Ivanhoe can do about its 'pub' feel. They try very hard upstairs to get away from it and there is a great atmosphere there, once you get away from the lower areas. The service gets a 10 out of 10 due to one of the staff -Angus the duty manager I have come across a few times. A great guy, friendly and willing to help any patron with whatever they ask for. You don't get that hospitality in many places. He is a valuable asset to that company. Well done. My vote is higher because of his contribution. Great place. Love the food as well.

Agree with the "steaks inconsistent" comment. Mine was full of fat, and my boyfriend's nice and lean. Nice view of the corso from the veranda on a hot summers day though.

I have not been to the Ivanhoe for quite some time and I was pleasantly surprised. My wife and I wanted some "hearty" home cooked style meal at a reasonable price and a cocktail. The cocktail menu, although fairly limited was great value as it was Happy Hour and the atmosphere on the third floor bar was very laid back and inviting. We ate our meal on the second floor restaurant level and the value was fantastic. My wife loved every bit of her old fashioned lamb roast and I thought my steak just beautiful.

The bar staff and security have always been friendly and helpful at the Ivanhoe and this has not changed. This time however, I can only give a low review of the wait staff. One young fellow in particular was so keen to clear our tables of drinks that he continuously kept coming over and grabbing our beers to take them away before realising they were still half full. The strangest moment though was when the same young fellow took it upon himself to simply snatch away our wine menu (as we were reading it) as though he felt we had looked at it long enough. We then decided that instead of wine we would have beer instead. All in all, great value but the young fellow needs some urgent training. We will be back for sure though.

Wines on the menu "not available in this bar". Management was very rude. Steaks inconsistent - one week great, next week all fat and grizzle.
