The Gallery Cafe is one of those places thats just average. The food portions are huge and I struggle to finish a meal (and I can eat). The service is ok and the ambience is also ok. I do like the paintings on the walls. Nothing special (the thick shakes are good though). My whole experience with eating at the gallery cafe on numerous occasions has been on average.

Have been here many times over the years - only go back as it is close to my work. Positives - best muffins I have ever had - great location and interesting building.
Now for the negatives - 9 out of 10 times bad coffee - and expensive. Most staff are rude, unfriendly, and too busy doing nothing. You never feel welcome. Thought it was just me, but chatting to friends they also have the same experience. and it is stinking hot.

No prices board at front (people may walk out as it is not cheap). Food is up and down - usually good, although I had a ceasar salad that was a bowl of lettuce once. Its a shame. Put in some aircon, and get some staff who know what customer service here, and you would have a goldmine.

Been a regular here for years, not sure why, I'm always trying them on the off chance that their service, coffee and food may improve.

Always a hit and miss, sometimes the specials are great, sometimes not, recently had a great burger though and a salad special that was very nice.

Service is my biggest bug bear here, the staff seem to endlessly wander around in a trance and are more interested in chatting with each other about their social lives outside of work, whoever is running this joint needs to put a rocket up them. This place has so much potential it's not funny.

Don't get me started on the coffee either, I've never had one that tastes like the original Campos store, either the milk is luke warm at best or too hot and on my last visit it took 30 minutes from the time I ordered to when it was delivered, might I mention there were 3 barista's mingling around the machine ....what the?

The service here is woeful. On Monday, 19th Dec, I sat down when it wasn't busy and waited 15 minutes without any service before I decided to get up and find somewhere else to go. Some of the wait staff seemed to be having more fun chatting amongst themselves than doing their job, which is a pity, as even though this isn't the first time this has happened, I would always leave them a good tip.

I've had brekky here a few times. Why I come back I don't know. It's a short walk to clover when gallery charges $4.90 for a double shot large coffee. As for the breakfast, Seriously how many eggs go into the scrambled egg portions? Not only is it huge, it's cooked poorly. Take some pride, the simple things need it all the same. And btw kitchen, a portion of poached eggs is 2 eggs, next to a portion of scrambled eggs. Figure something out.

This has been one of my worst food experiences I have ever had. The staff had to be prompted to get us a table, to serve us and to pay, we felt like we were being ignored. The table was not level and had a serious wobble, after a very long wait we finally received our food and were very let down, we ordered the chorizo eggs to find 2 small pieces of chorizo and very tasteless scrambled eggs. We have been regulars to this cafe but after this experience we will not be back.

The food at the gallery is good, but not worth it when you have to deal with the unfriendly wait staff and slow service. There are many other cafes I would go to in Annandale or the surrounding area before this place would get my time and my money.

Note to staff - it's your job to smile and be friendly. If you do you may even get a tip.

We are locals in annandale and regularly frequent the small selection of cafes on and around booth street. Although the gallery has a semi-decent menu and serves arguably the best coffee on the street, the staff there are of a load arrogant, incapable and rude. The females have a snobby attitude also.

Everytime we've been there we have either witnessed or experienced a constant barrage of messed up orders, inappropriate behaviour from staff to customers and wait times of over 45 minutes for simple meals in quiet periods, and don't even ask about the busy times. This is the first review we've ever been inclined to put forth online but it really does ruin what could be very decent cafe and restaurant. After constant disappointments we will be avoiding the gallery. We've even started getting ur coffee from across the road out of principle.

I suppose this place appeals to anyone who wants enormous portions of rubbish.
I rather pay more and get quality. The friends who insisted to eat here were certainly after quantity as they are both overweight. The coffee is as said by many reasonably good, but to say the breakfast we had last Saturday was the worst I ever had is a huge understatement.

They need to employ proper kitchen staffs as whoever did my scrambled eggs needs to learn how to cook. I have no idea why they give you a mountain of scrambled egg which I am sure had 6 eggs in it and it even smelt burnt. God help anyone eating dinner there. Good luck.

Aaaaaaah, The Gallery. I remember when it was good, the food, the service. What happened? In the last few months the service has really gone down hill, the staff are so arrogant. Twice recently I've waited to be given a menu and to order coffee, when you ask you are met with looks of disdain. Coffee is great, the baristas know their stuff. Shame about the wait staff. It's only a coffee shop. Yes, I know, it's 'The Gallery' but you still only work there. It's not like you own it or anything! Get over yourselves.
