Ate here on 02/03/09 for lunch. Service was friendly but desperately slow, 15 minutes for drinks and 40 minutes waiting for a pizza when there were 4 people in total in the restaurant. Pizza was heavy in cheese and very salty and greasy, left most of it. Very disappointed.

The Bite used to be a favorite but after my last visit I don't think they value customers business. Service was poor, in a empty restaurant we were crammed onto a small table, the food wasn't that great (it used to be excellent) and the bill was more than we expected. With so many decent restaurants in Dee Why it makes sense why they are constantly empty whilst the neighbouring restaurants are overflowing.

I don't know if the management have changed but "the Bite " hasn't got the flair it used to have. The food and service are now only average.

I love The Bite, one of my favourites. Pizza is delicious, I often get takeaway!
It's casual dining so I don't really have any expectations on service, but it's not bad I had no problems!

This restaurant used to be located at Mona Vale (not instead, but as well as the Dee Why one) I couldn't get enough of the Mona Vale one, the pizza's were all equally amazing. But then it changed into The Rock Lily. It is still a great place to eat, but not so many pizza's on the menu as other things have been introduced. But that's The Rock Lily, not The Bite.

The Bite on the other hand is disappointing. I have only been once since the Mona Vale once changed names and it left my friends and I unsatisfied. The pizzas were burnt which was very disappointing. And very light on toppings. Service has alot of room for improvment and decor was boring.

If you're looking for good gourmet pizzas, head the The Rock Lily instead! You will not be disappointed!

Service is terrible. Have to continually ask where our drinks order is. Cutlery is either missing to begin with or failed to be replaced, and on our last visit we were told that they were out of wine glasses (this was at 7:30 pm).

The pizzas are quite nice, which is their only redeeming feature. Lately though they've been stingy on the toppings and the food isn't up to the same standard it used to be. They also seem to take their time making them, as on several occasions we were waiting 45 minutes for these (while only a few tables were occupied).

The restaurant is child friendly and the decor seems to suggest this, as it may have been designed by one. The place is in dire need of a renovation which could significantly increase its ambience and patronage.

They are, unfortunately, overcharging for the quality and quantity of the food and service provided. In my opinion the only reason they are still here is because of the location. Unless something is done about the points above I won't be returning any time soon.

The pizza can be very good, the location is nice and the service I found to be at least friendly if not efficient.

Started off by making a simple drinks order which was forgotten and then took a second waiter to get right. Not a good start. 15 mins wait for these, which for 2 drinks is lengthy. Ordered seafood salads which unfortunately were dismal - stingy serving of seafood absolutely doused with cheap sweet chilli sauce on an increasingly soggy salad - it just didn't work.

Also ordered pizza crusts that were very dry and devoid of flavour. Service was very slow and this was not a busy night. This was all very surprising and disappointing because I have had the pizzas here before, which are fantastic. One of my favourites for interesting pizzas but what a shame the food and service were so awful this time. The restaurant does need a re-vamp and the prices in no way reflect the service. Being across from the beach on a busy strip may be their saving grace.

Very expensive in terms of service and size of meals. However, the food is fantastic. The surrounds need a major refurb!!!! for the location and price, more is expected of this ageing restaurant.
