A bit too much of a backpacker place it seemed. The staff were ok but half of them didn't really speak much English. I had a meal from the adjoining restaurant and asked for the rest for takeaway which after waiting nearly 20 minutes realised the non-speaking waitress just threw my barely touched food out!
As for the local crowd. It seemed a bit too cliquish. I'm sure there are nicer hangouts in Bondi than this one.
One of my favourite pubs ever! Massive..great dj's upstairs. It’s an excellent garden bar in summer. Always pumping..Thursday/Sunday nights go off!
I ate at restaurant upstairs last night (14.05.2008) pretty decent modern oz fare. We had steak and roast lamb rump $22-$25 price range. Very happy with food, service and wine and on Tuesday nights only they have singer songwriters and bands in restaurant area which was great. I will be back on Tuesdays for sure.
Absolutely perfect - great atmosphere - great cocktails [specially mojitos!] and the food and service were superb. Was in Bondi 17 days and spent about 16 of them in here ! Wish there was a Bondi Rd Hotel in Manchester!
The Beach Rd is cool for releasing your inner surfyness. You'll Fit right in in jeans and thongs... What Else! GREAT live music which chills the soul juusst nicely.
Love the casual but up market approach to this surf side, classic pub.
As if this isn't just the best damn bar / pub / venue in Sydney! Casual atmosphere and caters to all types. Use to live down the road, shame I don't go anymore but still find myself meeting up with mates there about once a fortnight.
Not usually much of a bar type person but I was pleasantly surprised when a friend showed me this gem. Great friendly crowd, no pretensions, decently priced drinks, awesome place to meet up with mates.
