I've recently moved to Camperdown for a short term work contract. After reading some of the reviews for this establishment I had to comment. It's a pub bistro and is rather basic. The mains starting price is incredibly low, sub $10!
Prepaying for the meals is not a hassle and staff are always friendly. I'll be back regularly for the generous portions of food and relaxed atmosphere.

Ever since this place was taken over, I've hated coming here. The bar staff are some of the rudest people I've ever met. I've been coming here for 5 years and loved it, but now I feel as tho im putting these bar staff out by asking for a drink, I even received I smart comment when I left them a tip.

Dropped in here with friends on Saturday. Lovely friendly barmaid and a decent selection of beers on tap. The burgers and French fries were large serves which filled the entire plate, it all went down a treat.

Had dinner here for the first time last night, a Thursday night. My partner ordered the barramundi, which was excellent. I ordered the veal schnitzel, which I found to be rather bland. The dining area towards the rear of the pub, is nice, could have been a bit larger perhaps. With so many pubs in the area offering similar fare, with better atmospheres, we probably would not return.

Have been coming here for the past few months and have to say the place is fantastic! The food is well priced and delicious. The staff are friendly, helpful and they smile, makes a nice change from many other pubs.

Fantastic food. I have been there quite a few times since moving to Camperdown. Schnitzels are great and full of flavour! I would prefer chips to the fries they serve, but they still taste fine!

The place has potential. We ordered the $7 rump steak, and it was cooked to order, a perfect mid-rare, nicely trimmed, good flavor, but it was room temperature and served on a bed of cold mash. Why? I would gladly pay a little more for "hot" food if that is what it takes.

I have eaten here twice over the last 2 weeks, I must say I was a bit scared after reading this website on how the food and staff would be, I must say that I experienced nothing but good things when I have eaten here for dinner on Monday nights.
The food is pretty good considering they start at $6 a plate and you're in a pub, so no complaints there, the staff are polite without being friendly (we are in a pub afterall) and the time it took for them to cook a meal even when it was pretty full was about 15 to 20 minutes.
So I'd recommend this place to people and I will also go back and dine again, I haven't tried a lunchtime meal here though, so I'd recommend coming for dinner if you want your experience to reflect what I did.

A small bistro right at the back of the pub with a little courtyard for outdoor dining/drinking. The food took some time to arrive (about 20 minutes) and the service wasn't really great though they were not rude.
However for $6 (50 cents extra for sauce) for steaks/chicken schnitzel/grilled fish, it's great value. I must commend them on how well they've done the steak. I requested for medium rare and it was just that - nicely grilled on the outside with the full flavour of barbequed meat, and rare in the middle. No salad with the dish though I can't complain cos it's just 6 buck. Can do with an improvement on the chips which were too oily though crunchy. The chicken was well marinated and crispy too.
You'll need to pay first before eating. Paying by credit card is a bit of a pain cos you'll need to order your food where the bistro is and then walk over to the pub counter to pay up.

Nice pub in Camperdown with a renovated set up of the old style pubs with the tiled walls and a cool little beer garden, new team running the kitchen producing some very impressive stuff for pub grub. Worth a look
