Wow, hasn't this place had a makeover since my last visit!

Thoroughly enjoyed a weekend lunch here with a friend. She recommended the noodles with coconut sauce which I wasn't entirely sure about, especially as it came with a vinegary sauce which I was also supposed to pour over my noodles... but somehow it all worked out into a taste-bud-pleasing, mouth-watering concoction which was like nothing else I've tasted before. But I licked my plate clean.

On past visits I've also enjoyed a decadent lunch of sugar cane prawns, though the portion size makes it truly pigging out in my books.

Service is pleasantly idiosyncratic - if you get offended when the waitress says "Ready to order? Okay, talk" then you'd better stay away! I thought it was part of the character of the place.

I'll definitely be back for more.

A little more expensive than other places in Cabaramatta but the portions seem bigger. I had the spring rolls which was nice and big but the outside of the spring rolls looked like pork crackle. My seafood rice noodles was nice and bigger than your average serving. It was packed when I went, worth going too.

Have stopped going to this restaurant because the taste of their food especially the pho has lost its great taste. Food is just average, not giving you the taste you really look for in vietnamese food and prices are average as well.

Not sure why people would give Thanh Binh a high score for ambience, it's almost non-existent but that doesn't matter in the slightest (although it was air conditioned). The food was very good except the braised duck which was a bit tough and disappointing. Great salty squid with an unusual lemon juice and white pepper dipping sauce. Everything was very fresh and surprisingly for a Sunday lunch, the place wasn't packed out. Maybe later. Six of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal which cost about $14 per head including broken rice which we ordered specially. A good quality Chinese tea too.

Food: The vermicelli and rice paper dishes are my favourite - the herbs are fresh and you get lots, the meat is succulent. For the bbq prawn choice, the prawns are good sized and perfectly done, and they are generous with the steamed vermicelli, rice paper and will give more lettuce/bean sprouts and herbs at no extra cost. Try the prawn mousse on sugar cane stick - very good! I tried the pho there once and wasn't impressed but each place has its specialty and Thanh Binh has over a hundred items listed on its menu so I guess there's bound to be a few things off.

Decor: As is the case for many restaurants in Cabramatta is functional. There's a different criteria for judging Vietnamese restaurants here as a spartan place with kitsch decorations like plastic flowers and fronds shouldn't scare you. If it's clean, efficient and has a flask of tea, an array of sauces and condiments on the table for you to choose from (chilli paste, pickled chilli slices, hoisin sauce, soya sauce, sugar) it's likely to be good. Service: Very efficient. Value: Really good value for money as servings are very decent and quality of food especially the herbs and salads are great.

This place was absolutely pumping at 3pm, virtually every customer looked to be Vienamese in origin. I can never remember being seated, greeted and served my food as quickly in all my life. Food seemed to be only marginally above cost price. I guess they rely on turnover. Altogether very very good all round.

Huge menu but overrated. Service was fast and friendly but prices were expensive and food was only average.

The Vietnamese beef soup is definitely overrated. We've had better soups elsewhere. The menu is large but not very different from other restaurants and there are Vietnamese and Chinese dishes on the menu. The service was good and people were friendly. Thanh Binh is a mediocre Vietnamese restaurant.

So many dishes to choose from, but signature dishes must be Sugar Cane Prawn wrapped in rice paper & vermecelli noodle with fresh salad, Soups (all varieties) & Grilled Pork Chops with broken rice. Excellent value for money, food is always fresh & quick to serve.

I am doing an assignment on Cabramatta as I had to pick a community in NSW. I was just wondering if you could give me any information about the Cultures, Religions and Socio-economic status. Thank you very much for your time.
