    Thanh Xuan opens 7 days a week and has a very long menu. So whether you want to try classic Vietnamese dishes or something new, this is the place for you. It also has lots of Chinese dishes (including stir fried flat rice noodles, honey chicken, hot pot, etc) but Vietnamese cuisine is the highlight here. I tried the beef satay pho which is very different from the usual pho and it was delicious. The broth is very flavoursome and the spiciness is very mild (they give you a separate plate of chilli so you can throw some in if you like). I prefer mine without the extra squeeze of lemon juice so next time I'll only be adding bean sprouts and mint leaves.

    The service at Thanh Xuan is like the usual Vietnamese restaurant but friendlier. Ambience is casual but clean enough. Value is excellent - browsing through the menu, everything looked pretty cheap. Yes this place isn't the most spectacular Vietnamese restaurant but it does take you that extra step further from the usual ones by being more innovative and also hitting just the right notes of flavour.
