I went there for my birthday with 14 others, We had banquet number 1. In our group We had vegans, so we asked for some dishes be altered. They were very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional, the best vietnamese food i've had outside Vietnam. The prices were excellent, staff were lovely and attentive and the restaurant had a lovely ambience. I had a thoroughly wonderful evening and can't wait to go back!

I went there for a Xmas Dinner on a Saturday (09/12/11). The food was generally quite good. For a busy Saturday evening the service was good.

I appreciated that the staff member who served us cautioned us about ordering too much, as the portions were quite generous. This was true. So instead of ordering 7 entrees for 7 people we ordered 4.

The Steamboat for 3 was sufficient for 4-5 people. The desserts we had were also quite good. I will gladly go there again.

I really like this Vietnamese restaurant. I especially liked the suon heo muoi xu - battered pork, and the mi vit tiem - duck. The banana fritters with sago sauce for dessert was superb. Excellent quality and flavours. Lively and clearly popular with the Newtown crowd. Try the Vietnamese beer (333)!

Thanh Binh has been my default restaurant since discovering it several years ago. The food is fabulous, it's always packed so the atmosphere is buzzy and the wonderful owner Angie and her staff are completely lovely and free of attitude. Highly recommend the sugar cane prawns and the soft shell crab and papaya salad.

Stumbled on this place and really liked it. You Must order the Mì Vit Tiêm (Twice cooked soy aniseed duck served on top of egg noodles with baby shiitake and bok choi), it was Delicious! I will definitely visit again. Read more in my blog.
