Its not called Thai In A Box anymore - now its called Wok 'N Roll - much cooler name! They have these cool Fender stools and tables with old gig posters under the glass which fit well with the whole Annandale vibe seeing as its a live venue.
I have a few favourite dishes here as I've been eating there quite a bit due to some cool gigs that have been on lately - The Mark Of Cain, Gerling, Mess Hall etc - anyway I love the Chilli Basil Beef - nice and hot with a good amount of crunch, the salt and pepper squid sharing plate is yummo, plus you can design your own dish with different noodles and different flavours. Perfect for a pre-gig feed
A very casual place to eat - order at the counter and sit at long share tables. The options are excellent and the serves were enormous, main costing roughly about $14. We ordered prawn and vegetable dumplings and individual noodle dishes and everyone was pleased with their food. There is little table service- they did forget about our dumplings for a while but the staff are friendly and easy going, it's not BYO but the staff let us bring in a bottle any way and were really nice about it. Great place for lunch or a group dinner.
Have eaten there last time I was in Sydney. We ate there about 3 nights in a row. Fantastic food and service and at a great price. Will definitely be eating there again when I'm next in Sydney.
