Visited this place last week only because my fav restaurant in lakhemba was closed so I was already kind of upset because I was looking forward to some good indo-chinese food! Anyway, I liked the Pad thai I ordered (I order this at all thai places as a measure) but the green prawn curry that my mom had was pretty bad, it was watery and it just tasted weird! thats why the food gets a 6! if I had to judge it alone it would have been more! sorry guys!
Moving on, the decor of this place is good (red and black always works! however, they need chairs! I absolutely hated the long rectangular wooden benches, reminded me of the seating available in parks plus it made getting up weird! Anyway, I'll have to try some other things before I update this review!
My friends would not stopped speaking about it, so I finally decided to try it. It was the first time I tried Asian food and I actually really enjoyed it. Atmosphere was great and waiters were a great help.
Pretty tasty although the pad Thai was a bit tomatoey for my liking. Good price point. Some of the middle eastern waiters could do with a shave though - not a good look for a Thai restaurant.
None of the wait staff here are actually Thai, or even Asian except for one waiter which is very scary. The food isn't anything to rave about either but the only reason why I've been there the second time is because it's very close to Bankstown station and the interior decor/design is gorgeous!
This restaurant had me puzzled. Here was a new Thai Restaurant in the heart of Bankstown that had bearded Middle Eastern men waiting on the tables. It was all a little too weird for me. I mean, when was the last time you were in a Thai Restaurant where all the waiters were from the Middle East? "How authentic is the food going to be?" I asked myself.
The Thai Hut has tables out the front on the sidewalk and over a period of time I was able to see many of the meals on offer as I passed by. Eventually I had to cast aside my previous doubts with regard to the food and try it. Needless to say the food was every bit as good as it looked.
Oh, and my curiosity about why Middle Eastern men are the waiters in a Thai Restaurant has been satisfied. It is one of the few Halal Thai Restaurants in Sydney. I have been back to the Thai Hut a number of times since that first visit. The staff are always polite and attentive. The food is fresh and tasty. The prices are quite reasonable.
Among my favourites are the Duck Spring Rolls and the Tom Yum Chicken. (The soup is huge and virtually a meal on its own).
Enjoyed the food. Ambience was nice and service was good. For a group of 6 we got to try quite a few dishes off the menu, they were quite good. Value was ok mid range.
Have had much better Thai food elsewhere with bigger portions and cheaper prices. Smoke from the kitchen was so strong it was burning my nose and making my eyes water. There is a much better Thai Restaurant that opened up around the corner.
Great food and good portion sizes all round. Had takeaway so can't really comment on the atmosphere however very modern, clean and seems quite nice.
Must try the sexy ladies (prawn spring rolls), they are delicious. The seafood stirfry and satay chicken was very tasty. Service was attentive and fast. I will definitely go back for great value and tasty Thai.
